10-8-2016 - Monson BBQ

Well, the other Monson's came to town. I can say that because Matt has 2 brothers and one sister (who is a Michaels), so the Monson's that live in Pheonix came to town and we had them over for a BBQ.

Brian and Amy had things to do out in Stansbury Park, so we met up with Matt's parents and Mitch, Libby and the boys to go see Magnificent 7. We left Kara and Logan with a babysitter so we could join them. I wasn't all too sure what the movie was about except that it was a western. I use to watch them with my grandma all the time. It was an okay movie, but lots of violence for my taste. Yes, its a western, but a little too much gun fighting and people dying for my taste.

After the movie, we headed back to our house for the BBQ. We got back way before our time to start at 4:30pm, so we hung out outside for a while. Kara and Logan had fun riding bikes, skateboards, and playing Frisbee with the Sam, Nate, and Eli.

We waited till Brian and Amy showed up before starting to cook dinner.

While we were waiting, we gave Mitch and Libby a tour of our house since they had never been there before. Matt and Mitch decided to do a pull-up contest. Matt spouted of saying he could do three times as many as Mitch. I really should have filmed it, because Matt was barely moving at the end of it except for his head bobby up and down maybe 2 inches. He didn't quite get the 3 times as many, but did a great effort trying.

Family fun in the backyard. We so need some shade in the backyard for summer time and a new grill, since we had to borrow Matt's parents due to the fact that ours in over 11 years old and it has been beaten up quite a bit.

Playing soccer in the backyard. The boys kept themselves entertained. Wish we had cinder block walls like we had at our first house. No worries about the fence then.

Matt's mom has really been wanting a new picture of the Pheonix Monson's. So I asked them if I could take a quick couple of pictures. Yes was the answer and a happy Matt's mom.

Eli is the youngest.

Sam is the oldest.

Nate is the middle boy.

Kara and Logan really wanted to get in on the picture. Kara went to a mermaid birthday party that morning, so she had to have her crown and mermaid tail with her.
