Turkey had her baby!

My friend, Turkey, had her baby this month along with two of our other friends, but I missed taking pictures of them. I went with my friend, Amber Dawn, to see her in the hospital. She looked good and the baby, Miles, looked like his siblings when they were born. I was able to take a sibling picture. Very cute!

Amber Dawn and I also stopped by and looked in the nursery. There was a baby girl that was only 4 lbs and 13 ounces, so tiny.

Very Cute Kids!

Weird Milestone

Our car hit over 200,000 miles. I wanted to take a picture and got side tracked as we were driving down the freeway to get our taxes down. So I got a picture of 200,003.

Matt even asked me if he should drive backwards for 3 miles. My silly, Mattie!
Our poor car, we've had so many memories in it to get up past 200,000.
Well, now we are looking for a new car to replace our other car.
Hope Matt can find something we can both agree on soon.

ZORRO

Matt bought Zorro tickets for my birthday in January and the day finally came for us to use them. We went and saw Zorro at Hale Center Theater on March 19th.  I really liked it. Matt said some of the songs sounded too much alike. We sat on the 2nd row and could see the actors faces really close, but all the seats are great at there anyway.

Before the show, we even ran into my best friend’s mom from my 9th grade year. We chatted for a while and she told me how he was doing. It is weird where you run into people.

While Mattie was gone…what did I do?

Wednesday, March 14th
Went to dinner for Kali’s 23rd birthday to Ruby River out at Jordan Commons. I was late because I could have sworn Kali said Jordan Landing. In Attendance: Kali and her husband Shawn, my mom, my niece – Kasiah, and my Gram.

I wasn’t all to hungry and I usually like what is on the kids menu. The food comes in the right proportions and It costs reasonable for how much I want to eat. So since Kasiah was sitting next to me, I ordered her the Chicken Fingers and Fries. I ate half and she ate half. I also ordered a side salad. The right amount of food without getting stuffed.

After dinner, I called my best friend to chat; well she ended up being down with her family at her mom’s house and they were having strawberry shortcake. She invited me over. Very fun night.

Thursday, March 15th
Went walking with my friend, Amber Dawn. Three miles.

Friday, March 16th
Went on a bike ride with my mom for 1 hour in the wind. Definitely easier riding with it!
Played softball with my mom
Jumped on the tramp with Kasiah and my brother, Dane
Cleaned out the car with Kasiah
Prepared my taxes with my mother-in-law and then watched movies with her and my father-in-law. Love hanging out with them.

Kasiah helping clean out the car. She loved to play with the radio and roll the window up and down.

Dane doing tricks for Kasiah on the tramp while I took a break and eat lunch with Kali while she was on break from work.

Kasiah attempting Dane's Tricks. She does really well with a 360, but not so well with what ever she was trying to do in the next video.

Matt's California Fun

When Matt's brother, Mitch, and his family were here for Christmas, the Monson boys were suppose to go snowboarding/skiing. Well the weather and snow didn't work out, so the idea was to go to Lake Tahoe sometime in the spring. So I called Mitch to see when they were going to go skiing, he let me know plans had changed and his family was going to be going to Legoland instead. Legoland is something like Disneyland, but based on Legos. I asked Mitch if Matt and I could go. Matt and I were going back and forth with the idea, until Mitch text me on Feb. 27th to see if we were coming. After some planning, it was decided to just have Matt go (I am not the best fan of amusement park ride as they make me motion sick.).

Matt flew into San Francisco on Wednesday, March 14th. He hung out with the nephews, Sam (9), Nate (6), and Eli (4).

Thursday he played video games with Eli, while Sam and Nate were at school. They drove from San Francisco to Legoland (near San Diego). Matt has some interesting stories about this.
I am trying to talk him into blogging them.

Friday - they hung out in Legoland.
Saturday - it rained so they went to the aquarium and the movie, Lorax.
Sunday - drove back to San Francisco and Matt flew home arriving at 11:30pm

Date Night

Tonight, Matt and I, had a quick date night before he had to go to work. After I got home from work, we went on walk for about a mile and a half. We have been saying for the longest time that "we should walk to the Magic Wok" for dinner. Well at the end of our walk, we walked to our local Chinese restaurant that we have been meaning to try for the last 3 years called the Magic Wok.

When we went inside, we found out is was a sit down diner and not just a fast food joint. We were given our menus and asked the waitress what was good. I usually only like to get beef and broccoli or lemon chicken. We ended up ordering a dinner special for two: Cantonese soup, which is egg drop soup. Pineapple Chicken with vegetables, Lemon chicken, Chicken Silver Wrap, and Ham Fried Rice.

Most everything was really good. Matt liked the Lemon chicken better than the Pineapple Chicken. I wasn't to fond of the vegetables in the soup, which were peas, corn, and lima beans, but the broth was tasty.

At the end of the meal, we had our fortune cookies.
Matt's fortune: "Everyday in your life is a special occasion."
Abbie's fortune: "Creative energy is up - capitalize on it."

The best part was the dinner for two should have been a dinner for 4, so tomorrow night we are having left over Chinese too. YUMMY!

Very LATE Camping Post

Since I never blogged about our fun camping trip with our best friends and Matt's parents last year, I thought I would blog about it with such beautiful weather just right around the corner.

Camping Trip August 2011.

We went camping with Matt's parents and our best friends, David and Kristin, and their three kids, Gracie, Katie, and Parker.

We went to a camping spot that Matt and I had been a couple years before. We camped near a slow flowing river near Pineview Reservoir. We camped for two nights.

First Day - Matt and David took Gracie and Katie down the river. Pops drove them up the river and we waited to take pictures of them in the river.

After playing in the river, we eat dinner and then had some-mores. The girls loved them especially because they got to eat the EXTRA EXTRA large marshmallows.

Check out Katie and Gracie showing off their stick hands.

The 2nd day, we decided to go to the beach at Pineview. The water was pretty high last year, so the beach was shorter. This was great, because we didn't have carry everything so far.

We played in the water and on the beach. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Me and Katie out for a little raft ride.

Pops decided to take the raft out.
We decided to have a chat with him.

Pow-wow in the water.

Parker decided he would try and eat dirt.

After we were finished at the beach, we went back to the camp ground. Parker brought back so much sand, that we had to give him a bath.

Before we packed up camp, Matt and I decided to ride down the river. All I can say is it was cold for my hands, but extremely fun.
Matt enjoying his ride down the river.

I ran into a tree down the river and got something in my eye.
So I rode the river half blind, but still had fun.
Life is so much fun when we get to enjoy camping trips during the summer.
Can't wait to go this summer!
