Christmas Eve 2014

Christmas Eve was different this year as Matt started his 7 on shift on Christmas Eve, which meant he needed to take a nap from 5-8pm. So we arrange early with our families to have Christmas Eve at Matt's parents and Christmas at my parents.

We did a late lunch with Matt's family (his parents and brothers family). We should have planned it a bit later as Kara and Zach both had to be woken up from their naps to go to the party. What can you do, but bend the schedule with nap times.

After lunch at his parents, we went down stairs and let the kids open their presents. Kara got some dishes, a book, and pajamas. Baby boy got an outfit and some teethers that Kara wanted to claim as hers.

We all left Matt's parents about 5pm. Matt went home to sleep, I went to my parents for dinner, and Matt's brother went to Amy's side of the family.

12-23-2014

Matt worked the day shift at Mountain Medical, so Kara and I went to my mom's for awhile to get out of the house.

Before leaving, Kara decided she needed to be adventurous and figure out how to climb onto her changing table. She decided to pull out her diaper box from her closet and put it infront of her changing table. She wanted her binkie I put in the box.

After I document the fun she had, I put everything away. 25 minutes later, she was back on top of the table.

At my mom's, Kara got to play with Kasiah. Who dressed her up a couple of times. Funny kids.

Zoo Lights with the Elswoods 12-22-2014

We planned an evening out with our best friends/family to see the zoo lights and go to dinner, too bad it was the coldest night of the year so far.

We meet up at Red Robin. This isn't the place I usually like, but they had the best hamburger yet since being pregnant. It had grilled pineapples on it.

The kids did great and Kara even sat in the high chair most of the time, so we could actually eat our food without her on our lap.

After dinner, we stopped at the ball machine and David paid a $1.00 for each kid to take a turn at navigating the "claw" to get a ball. Kara only took about 4 times with Matt's help as she kept pushing the grab button.

After dinner, we headed up to the zoo to see the lights. It was cold but we bundled up as much as possible. Matt was chillier than Kara or I as he didn't bring a warm enough coat or a beanie. I tried before we left, but he said he would be fine. Too bad he didn't listen.

The lights were fun, but we didn't get to see very many animals, until we got to the building that were warm. We had fun thawing out in the reptile building. I put Matt incharge of watching Kara, but that meant me keeping a less close eye on her and watching him try and watch her. Thankfully Kristin was watching too. One time Kara slipped through the crowd and Kristin had to grab her. From then on, Kara only wanted Kristin, which was nice for a little breather.

Neighbor gift creations - 12-21-2014

We decided to do a little bit more home made gifts this year, plus I was feeling festive and a craving for chocolate covered cinnamon bears.

Kara kept herself busy while Matt and I baked cookies and then did some chocolate covered cinnamon bears and pretzels. They were SOO yummy and I had a hard time not eating them.!
