November 2016 - Random

Goofing off with the kids and taking photo selfies

Kara and Logan love to play together. Kara pretends she is the mom all the time and calls him kid. He isn't suppose to be on this toy, but he was too cute to not take a picture of them. He is such a little climber!

Doing laundry. Kara's job it to take the baskets to their rooms. She always asks Logan if he wants a ride.

Out eating frozen yogurt with Daddy before he has to go to work. Yep thats what we had for lunch.

11-4-2016
Morning snack, apples, by the sliding glass door. Yep they are still in there pajamas. Kara looks forward to pajama days where they just get to run around and play and not have to get dressed. If she is lucky, it might happen twice a week.

HUMUS, my kids and I are learning to love it. Its one of the only way Kara will eat carrots raw. She loves them cooked in chicken noodle soup though.

So we were stranded without a car for the day, because Matt went out to go to work and the Durango was completely dead. So off he went with the car and my mind got to work trying to figure out how to get the Durango fixed.

Well first, I had my mom swing by and take a look at it. It is usually the battery, so she pulled up and gave it a jump. It worked only when the gas was pedal to the metal.

She dropped the battery off at Auto Zone for me and then off she went to Kali's for something. I called Auto Zone later and found out the battery was bad but that the terminals were also really loose. I mean you could just grab the cable and lift the cables off the battery, no tools were needed. So I needed to get new battery cables on.

Yeah like I knew how to do that and Matt's schedule was ridiculous for four days. Luckily, I have a very good friend with a super talented husband that is great working on cars. I called Turkey and asked if I could pay Alan for the work. He was available to help out.

So I arranged for a sitter to watch the kids while I walked down the street to Auto Zone to get a new battery and cables. Alan came to the rescue.

Kara decided to camp out in the bathroom while I gave Logan a bath. She is so imaginative and funny.

Got out of the house today to run some errands before Thanksgiving. Went to the DI and found this book. They even spelled my name right!

Stopped at Target and had to sit on the red bench and take a picture. Kara's request.

Our book find today at the DI. I so love being able to go there and find new books. It is great that the most we spend is $1.00 per book. Logan likes to look at them and I don't feel like I need to freak out since they aren't brand new or expensive.

Cuddling with Logan for naptime. He has had a cold and loves to cuddle to fall asleep for naps lately, especially cause I hum him to sleep.

Kara talking to Logan while he is in time out. See the video below.

While the kids were napping, I updated the pictures throughout the house:

This is for Logan's room.

This is for Kara's room.

This is for the stairway and the what we have done as a family.

Latest trip to Disneyland in September. This goes in the front room.

We headed to my parents, so Kara and Logan could have a haircut. Boys hair grows so fast and I can't cut it by myself. Kara gets a trim every time Logan needs a haircut too. It keeps her hair looking healthy.

Logan also decided to take a nice tumble while we were at my mom's and got a nice goose egg on his forehead.

Kara woke up in the morning and had the following conversation with me:

Kara - "why is it so crazy?"
Me - "what is crazy?
Kara - "the snow"
Me - "why do you say the snow is crazy?"
Kara - "because it's all poky"

The world through the eyes of Kara.

When your child has been sick for 4 days and she asks for tomato soup for breakfast at 8:27am. You say yes, why not, and fix it for her. Favorite food.

Walking home from picking Kara up from school. Logan is still in his pajamas and he is wearing Kara's pink gloves.

Little mister mischievous. Climbed up onto the counter from breakfast, grabbed the honey container, went and hid in his spot. When I found him, "mom, yum" was all he had to say to me.

Logan drinking his dad's water after our morning workout.

Still cuddling for naps even though he isn't sick anymore. Love this and enjoying it while it lasts.

Grandma (Great) Lucille

Okay, so we use to do a lot more with my Grandma Lucille then we do know. She is technically my Step-Great Grandma. She married my grandma's husband before I was born, so she is the only person I ever remember having been married to my Grandpa (Great) Ron.

My Grandma Lucille's first husband had died and my Grandpa Ron's first wife, who is my Grandma's real mom died. So they got married. But the funny thing is she is only about 9 or 10 years older than my grandma, so my Grandma Lucille has kids that are my mom's and aunts ages, but are really my grandmas' step-sisters. So if you followed all that, good for you. I remember when we would introduce ourselves to new family members, at weddings, baby showers, etc. They always looked at us like "okay, I am not sure I followed that but okay".

We recently went to a baby shower for a cousin (2nd or 3rd), but we don't really count that in my family. My Aunt Kennie, who is my grandma's step-sister, but my moms age-ish, wanted to take family pictures of everyone since my Grandma Lucille is getting older, 96 or 97ish. Aunt Kennie is really great about sending out hard copies to the families, so these are the pictures that came to me in the mail.

Me and Matt and my Grandma Lucille. A very long time ago, before kids.

She is a great lady and I would always look forward to seeing her when she would come shopping at the Harmons Brickyard where I worked for 3 years as she lived in Sugar House.

Can't believe she has out lasted 2 husbands and a step-daughter. My grandma knew her longer than she knew her own mother.
