1-26-2017 - Dinner date at Tucanos

Last dinner date, before Matt worked 6 days straight. We went to Tucanos. I have to admit I wasn't the happiest thinking about the date that day as Matt and I had been arguing. About what? Who knows? But the date turned out to be what we needed.

It was funny to see this sign as we entered the parking structure.

This is pretty much the only time our waiter paid any attention to us. He wasn't very good at all, but the guys who brought around the meat were. We spent our time talking about the things that elude us while having dinner with the kids.

Gotta love eating without kids every once in a while!

I so love dating my husband. We didn't go on too many dates while Kara or Logan were babies, so we are living it up now that we have some trusted babysitters and I'm not nursing a baby or throwing up from being pregnant.

1-25-2017 - Zoo Day in the snow

Well it was cold outside, but a free zoo day, so we dragged Big Bonka along as the kids now refer to her. It was nice to have an extra pair of hands with me since Logan likes to walk around and get pushed at the same time. He just wants to be like his sister.

We saw the lions up close and personal again today.

The grizzly was extremely friendly and we were able to watch his at the window alot this time.

This was the only elephant we saw since there were inside today.

The rhino was a fun place to play.

But the best story was on the way home -

My mom got a call from the home security company saying the panic alarm had be triggered. She said to ignore it and gave them the code. She knew my dad was home, so after she got off the phone with the alarm company she tried calling my dad.

He didn't answer his cell, or the house, or his cell phone for the second time. She then checked her app to see if he was at home and he was. So she tried calling the neighbor to go check on him, but the neighbor wasn't answering her phone.
While she called the neighbor, I was racing home as fast as I could with out running red lights or speeding too much.

I even tried calling my dad, but he didn't answer.

So what did my mom do? She called 911 and explained the information and wanted to have the cops do a check.

We were 10 minutes away.

As I turned into the neighborhood, my mom got a phone call from my dad. Boy was she pissed at him.

She had me drop her of at the bottom of the driveway, so she could shovel the driveway and see what had happened.

She came out of the house pretty quickly and the shovel was lucky it wasn't old. She took her aggression, frustration, and panic attack out on the snow.

My dad had been playing with the alarm system and had pushed the panic button. Afterwards, he was just sitting on the computer watching a show and his phone was in the bedroom so he couldn't hear it. He was quite surprised when he heard the cop knocking at the door. Even more surprised when he found out my mom had called 911.

Just one of those funny stories that had a good outcome.

1-21-2017 - Mason Birthday party at Bounce house

Mason turned 3 and we helped celebrate his birthday at the Kangaroo Zoo. The kids absolutely loved it. I have a hard time climbing up some of the stair things, so I just watched mostly and help some babies. Plus kept an eye on kids and of course took a lot of pictures.

Logan loved everything and was every where.

Kara was a bit interested and only wanted to play on the sea monster and got in trouble a couple of times for not sharing it.

We bounced, climbed, and slide for about 2 hours and then we had cupcakes and presents.

The blue icing kinds stained their lips and mouths, but they loved it anyway.

Happy 3rd Birthday Mason!

1-20-2017 - Dinner date with elswoods

We were able to meet up with David and Kristin for her birthday celebrations. She is the youngest of our group of 4, but we are all with in 4 months of each other. Its just the boys were born the year before us, so we are always a year younger than them. Makes us feel good.

1-19-2017 - Tubing at Soldier Hollow

I absolutely love sledding and tubing. So since Kara was old enough this year, we headed to Soldier Hollow for a 2 hour session of Tubing.

Matt dropped off Logan while I took Kara to preschool. We took Kara out of school about 1/2 hour early to make sure we could make it up to the Noon time slot. We ate lunch in the car and then got dressed in our snow clothes once we reached our destination.

Kara and I are ready to go up the mountain.

Heading up the mountain. We had Kara between us so we could help her at the top of the hill to get off the tubes.

Abbie selfie. I luckily had borrowed some snow goggles from the neighbor because I didn't have any sunglasses as they were in our car that was getting fixed. The snow was so bright.

Kara being miss independent and pulling her tube up to the cable to go up the mountain so she could be first. She also preferred to go down the mountain by herself too.

Family tubing picture together. We had the mountain practically ourselves. There were about 12 people total on the mountain. Only crappy part, was it had been snowing and we were the first people for the day so the mountain wasn't very fast.

Having a blast together all the same.

We went out to a lunch/dinner after we were done, but had to find an open restaurant first.
This place was pretty awesome and it had fantastic homemade food!

Love my little girl. It is so funny that she usually prefers to play with Matt, but if it is dinner time she wants to be right by my side.
