January 2014

One of the ways Kara plays and helps me around the house. Love how she is always fascinated with the laundry baskets. She especially likes to ride in them as I transport the laundry around the house.

Our little bean prepping for her crawl.

Crawl Baby Crawl

Cute as Minnie mouse. Her dad loves this onesie, but it has now been put away as she is too big for it.

We got sick on New Years Day night and it lasted for a good 7 days. The only time Kara would cuddle with me was when she was sick during this time period.

This is Kara's toy box at her Grandma Monson's house. She loves to pull everything out all the while of tipping it over and then setting it back up straight. Silly little girl.

Kara likes to put her toys on things that are high and then get them back down. She especially likes this near the TV, but I try to avoid letting her play there incase she knocks it over.

This is one of the onsies Matt bought for Kara before she was born. He said Kara could be part of the Green Lantern core. So one day to surprise him I dressed her up in it. This was after knowing he had on his shirt too. So we had a Green Lantern Day as a family.

Kara's idea of helping me in the kitchen. I only let her in this cupboard and one drawer, but she hasn't quite gotten the concept yet. She does really like to play in the kitchen by taking everything out of the cupboard. I don't care as it keeps her busy, she has fun, and she can be curious without getting hurt.

2 days before I found her like this after a nap, I had Matt lower the crib. Mind you it took me a week of saying "Matt you really need to lower the crib." Well, I am glad he did as our little Bean isn't being too little anymore.

Kara and her cousin, Zach. He is 4 months younger than Kara. Funny to see the size difference. Especiaally since I have been comparing Kara to Leili.

Matt despises one type of Jello...Jello with cottage cheese and cool whip. He calls it the abomination jello. Well to his great dismay, his daughter quite enjoys it. I even sent him this video to show him.

Kara and I have a lot of fun playing with each other. She likes to growl at me. She use to fall back while sitting up if I would scream, but she got so she is always crawling or standing up. So I tried the screaming trick to see what she would do. Still worked the same as when she was sitting.

Ice Castles 1-27-14

Well we saw Frozen and I totally loved the movie. So we had to go see the ice castles in Midway. We heard mixed reviews from a couple different friends, so we tried to prepare well.

We didn't go on a weekend.
We made sure to wear boots, at least Kara and I did.
We dressed really warm.
We saw the ice castles in the light and at night.
We pre-bought our tickets.

We went on Monday, January 27th. We left our house at 4:30 pm and arrive in Midway and parked just after sunset. We hurried and got Kara bundled up walked past the ticket booth since we pre-bought our tickets and explored the world of ice.

We were there about 45 minutes all together. We left as it was getting too crowded and we were hungry. We got back to the car and I nursed Kara while Matt looked for a restaurant in Heber. We ended up eating at Spin Cafe in Heber. The food was pretty good, but it took for every to get it. It took about 25 minutes for my steak to come out and I even ordered it medium well and not well. The broccoli was the best part. Best I have tasted thus far.

We had an enjoyable family night out. We watched a movie when we got home after putting Kara down for the night.

Birthday #32...

Or as I say 27. No I am not denying my age or anything like that. When I had Kara, she set my mind back to 26 as I always wanted a baby by the time I was 25, so years I have lived on the earth 32. Age my mind thinks I am 27.

So it was an interesting week surrounding my birthday.

January 9th - Went and shot some hoops at the church before a basketball game. As I can't play until my knee heals up.

January 10th - I was able to go to the Temple to do a session with Turkey and Alan. It was really emotional both good and bad. Glad Turkey was with me as I needed her there.

January 12th - We had family dinner at Kali's house, since my mom was in Neveda with my sister, Lyndsay, waiting for Lilly to come.

January 13th - We (Kali, Leili, Matt, Kara, and I) went sledding for the 2nd time this year. Love sledding.

January 14th (Birthday) - Relaxing day with family! I got to sleep in later than expected because Kara was fantastic. Matt gave me a birthday present of a water bottle, slippers, and 2 movies. Cleaned the house a little and also went for a walk outside while Matt cut his hair. We went out and bought baby gates for Kara. We had a celebration dinner at Outback Steakhouse, because I craved steak the night before. We also got to go out to a movie, Frozen, because Matt's mom came and watched Kara. Plus the best news, I got a new niece on my birthday, Lilly. Such a better year than last year's car accident and spending it in the hospital.
