Family Pictures and Kara's 6 1/2 months

We got family pictures taken on October 22nd. Turkey took them for us, plus Kara's 6-months pics a couple weeks late.

They turned out FANTASTIC!!! Turkey even got our silly moments and some of Kara's meltdowns.

First Dog Bone...Literally

Well Kara ate her first dog bone. No getting around that. I was at my mom's one night to turn around to Kara having gotten Kappy's dog bone. My mom took it away before I could get a picture, so I gave it back to capture the occasion. Crazy? Nope she had already tried it once, and I have know more than one child (Chelsey) having eaten dog food and survived.

15 year milestone

It is official, I made it 15 years at Harmons.

Well I actually did that before delivering Kara, but Matt and I went to the Awards Banquet so I could be honored.

Well sort of, we enjoyed the appetizer and seeing some people I have know forever, BUT...the main meal wasn't that good, they forgot to put my name on the program under the 15 year honorees, and my picture in the slide show.

But I did get to order my 15 year gift, I got my picture taken, and an impromptu recognition from one of the presenters, which was sweet.

All in all, I got to get dressed up and go on a date with Matt.

Volleyball

I have been able to play church volleyball for the past couple of months. It has been a little interesting arranging sitters for Kara's on Matt's work nights, but well worth it. I got some exercise and made some new friends.

Too bad it is over for another year, but we had fun and even did well at the region tournament except our 2nd to last game when we played really really lousy. I didn't even get mad!

Halloween 2013

Oh so much fun as a Halloween with our Kara-bean. Kara's first Halloween and we enjoyed ourselves. We decided to be the "super" family this year. I had to actually get Matt's costume in Washington because he waited too long and couldn't find one in Utah or on-line.

We went to a friends' Halloween party on October 26th and participated in a scavenger hunt, which was enjoyable.
Our Super family. Superman, Supergirl, and Supermom.

Kara screamed all the way home from the party, well I found out why.
We went to a pumpkin patch for the first time to pick out pumpkins. We didn't quite carve the pumpkins, but Matt did make pumpkin puree, which we even fed to Kara.

Halloween we joined our favorite family, the Elswoods, for our traditional dinner and trick or treating. It was fantastic to have our own itty bitty to trick or treat with. Well, we actually just carried her around and walked with the other kids, but it was the best just the same.
Went trick or treating to grandma's

Stopped at a friend's haunter house.
Pictures before we got out into the neighborhood

Alpine Loop and Hiking

I was missing the autumn colors from Washington, so I talked Matt in taking me up to the Alpine Loop for a drive and some hiking.

We hiked up to a waterfall that was about 4 miles round trip. We experiences all sorts of temperatures, but were prepared for all of them. The waterfall was beautiful, but was too cold to eat by as it was in the shade, so we had to hike back down the trail to find some sun.

The colors were as good as Washington, but we found a few spots that were picturesque.
