8-31-2016 - Just a day

I had arranged with Kali to take Kyla and Leili while she went out with Ashley for lunch. Unfortunately, Ashley had to run her son to the doctor. I told Kali to bring the kids over anyway and we would have lunch and still let them play.

Kali came over, but had had it with Leili so I told her to go have some "me" time. She enjoyed running errands by herself and eating lunch by herself. Doesn't sound like much fun, but oh I know the feeling, sometimes you just want to sit in silence and eat without having to tell your kids to eat, make them food, clean up after them, remind them to eat, ask them to sit down, remind them to eat, and then remind them to eat again. Oh for the quiet and stillness of a peaceful meal.

Quite enjoyable sometimes,

Kali brought back a peanut butter waffer bars and the kids loved them. Logan loved them as he thought they were a cookie which is the first thing he usually asks for when we go to my mom's.

After they left, I put the kids down for a nap and waited for Matt to get up. Once he did, I had my quiet time. I went and picked up my wedding ring, which I had cleaned and the prongs fixed around the center diamond. Its amazing how light my hand was without it on, but how naked it felt without it on.

Matt worked an extra shift that night, so when I got home it was still early so we went on a walk. Yep that is a picture of Kara in her pajamas on our walk. I didn't want to be inside yet, so we loaded Logan up in the stroller and went around the block a couple times. She frequently will ask me while we are out on a walk to stop and take her picture. I like when she does this since I have her full attention and she will truly smile for the camera. I think she is quite a beautiful little girl.

8-30-2016 - Thanksgiving Point - Farm Country

Thanksgiving Point has $2 Tuesdays in August. I like to go once a year to utilize this nice program, but usually only hit the Gardens since they are outside and alot of people can be there without it feeling too claustrophobic or stuffy. Kali wanted to try Farm Country, so we did.

I watched Kyla in the morning for about 1 1/2 hours while Kali and Leili went to Leili's preschool orientation. Kyla wasn't the happiest little girl since she was tired, but we made it through it with me getting to cuddle her most of the time.

After Kali got back, we headed down to Farm Country and had our lunch before going in.We also tried on hats before going to see the animals. It was okay for the $2, but I would rather go to Wheeler Farm where is it alot bigger with more area to walk and shade, but once a year and for $2 it was just fine.

The kids got a pony ride with their ticket entry, so we decided to wait in line. It took about 1/2 an hour to get through the line, but while waiting someone gave us 2 more tickets, so Leili and Kara got to ride the ponies for a second time at the very end.

Logan's first pony ride and he loved it. He wasn't quite sure about it at first, but didn't want to get off when it was time, so I figure that is a success.

We also went on a wagon ride. There wasn't much to see but the kids enjoyed it and it was nice to sit down in the shade and rest while getting to see something new.

2nd pony ride right before we left. It went pretty well except Leili had a little fit and hit Kali, which meant no treat and made Leili have another fit. Its so fun as a mom to try and do new things for your kids and end the trip with a fit. Kara had a fit before we got in the car cause she wanted something else too. Tired kids make for great partners of fun.

We did have a nice day, but it was good to go home and put kids down for naps. At least at my house, since Leili hasn't napped in forever.

August 2016 - Random Photos and Videos

My little tomato monster. She is allowed to pick the tomatoes outside unless her brother can see her. He likes to do anything she does.

My neighborhood has a field behind it. When we moved it, they said it was going to be a park. Now the city is trying to zone it for more houses. Alot of the neighbors have been petitioning the city to keep it open space or make it into a field. Utah National Guard flies its helicopters low over that area for descending to land the helicopters, UDOT operates out of the area for clearing the roads during winter, and trains pass by the area with hazardous materials. We went to the commision meeting well versed into why not to build on the land and the commission voted to advise the city council not to build. Well the council ended up voting to build anyway, so far. I wasn't able to go to the city council voting but went to the commission meeting and thought we had it in the bag, so to speak. Well not so. See what the future holds for our little neighborhood.

Kara letting Logan sit on her. It is really cute, but if he sees any little kid laying on the ground he tries to sit on them. They are too cute together.

Video - Logan sitting on Kara.

Went out to work with Bubbles. Love getting Bubbles out of the corral as she usually just comes up to me and then lets me lead her out.

Video - Waiting for Bubbles to come to me.

8-5-2016
Spent a couple of hours at the Elswoods. Kara loved the pool and Logan loved the bubbles.

8-6-2016
Time to get books at the Library with Kara. She loves going up to the Librarian to ask where Clifford books are at, even though she already knows where they are at anyway.

This is how she likes to ride the cart, but it is usually with her head hanging back and leaning out as far as her arms can stretch.

Logan and Dane were practically twins. Logan loved having Dane throw him up in the air.

Coloring at the table while I was doing something on the computer.

Kara helping me make brownies while I made an utter failure of a Six Sisters recipe for a neighborhood party.

My utter failure, but tasted good if you scooped it out with a spoon.

Nail party! Logan's are green.

Miss playing soccer, but sure am glad I can dress him up in the outfit my mother-in-law gave me for Kara when I had her.

Its begun, Logan has figured out he can take off his pants. Help!

Logan's first taste of hummus.

My favorite food for summer - tomatoes and cottage cheese mixed together. Honestly don't knock it until you try it.

Plain old Campbell's Tomato soup with fresh garden tomatoes and spices added to it. Heavenly to eat any day of the week.
