Zoo, Birthday, and wedding - 2 days of fun.

Well the family came to town for a short visit for Dane and Danielle's wedding on Saturday, September 20th. Hoges and Peters were here for only 2 days tops.

So what did we do - we went to the zoo (which was also Matt's birthday), celebrated Leili's 2nd birthday, and Dane and Danielle's wedding.

Kara and Leili - Sept. 2014

Kara and Leili are only 6 months apart and live only about 5 miles from each other, so they have lots of fun throughout the weeks together.

Here are some of them:

Taking turns in the swing

Going out for a walk to get the mail

Playing with Grandma on the trampoline

Kara - Random Aug. & Sept. 2014

Kara's sense of style - underwear for hats. Too cute to say no!

At a park with Charlie and Laura

Loves to climb on anything.

Her hat (underwear) she wore when we walked to get the mail.

How to drink two things at once.

This is where the work is suppose to go

First whole pear...eating on grandma's lap

How she poses when she says cheese for the camera

Trying her swing at the pinata at Leili's second birthday party.

Her "new" car that I found at the DI. She loves to play with it at grandma's, so I searched for months for one for her.

Comic Con - Sept. 4-6th

Matt loves Comic Con along with his "nerdy" friends. This year, they decided to build legomen justice league costumes. It took Matt over a month to design and finish his. Since he is such a procrastinator, he worked on it up until Friday night at 2 or 3 am. Plus, he had his mom sew his pants, which Matt did help out alot with, starting on Wednesday. This only gave her 3 days to sew them.

What do you do, but try not to cause bodily harm to a husband that spend every free moment he has working on a costume while you are laying on the couch watching a toddler and throwing up 4 times a day. Lets just say, it wasn't the best of times.

The process of making his costume. Documented by Matt:

He made two of these. One for him and one for Jared

Made 4 hands. Two for him and two for Jared

Kara went with Matt on one of his shopping trips.
They played a little while they were out shopping.

Kara and I even attempt to join in the "fun" of Comic Con as we had in April. Well we spent 3 hours in line and only got to see the actual convention for 20 minutes.

Matt did end up enjoying himself and loved being the center of attention on Saturday in his costume. Only problem was that after wearing his costume and having stood in an awkward position for hours he tweaked his back for over a month and whined about it for just as long. He whined while I got to have sciatic problems of my own. As I said, wasn't the best of months.
