1-25-2017 - Zoo Day in the snow

Well it was cold outside, but a free zoo day, so we dragged Big Bonka along as the kids now refer to her. It was nice to have an extra pair of hands with me since Logan likes to walk around and get pushed at the same time. He just wants to be like his sister.

We saw the lions up close and personal again today.

The grizzly was extremely friendly and we were able to watch his at the window alot this time.

This was the only elephant we saw since there were inside today.

The rhino was a fun place to play.

But the best story was on the way home -

My mom got a call from the home security company saying the panic alarm had be triggered. She said to ignore it and gave them the code. She knew my dad was home, so after she got off the phone with the alarm company she tried calling my dad.

He didn't answer his cell, or the house, or his cell phone for the second time. She then checked her app to see if he was at home and he was. So she tried calling the neighbor to go check on him, but the neighbor wasn't answering her phone.
While she called the neighbor, I was racing home as fast as I could with out running red lights or speeding too much.

I even tried calling my dad, but he didn't answer.

So what did my mom do? She called 911 and explained the information and wanted to have the cops do a check.

We were 10 minutes away.

As I turned into the neighborhood, my mom got a phone call from my dad. Boy was she pissed at him.

She had me drop her of at the bottom of the driveway, so she could shovel the driveway and see what had happened.

She came out of the house pretty quickly and the shovel was lucky it wasn't old. She took her aggression, frustration, and panic attack out on the snow.

My dad had been playing with the alarm system and had pushed the panic button. Afterwards, he was just sitting on the computer watching a show and his phone was in the bedroom so he couldn't hear it. He was quite surprised when he heard the cop knocking at the door. Even more surprised when he found out my mom had called 911.

Just one of those funny stories that had a good outcome.
