Tradition - Gingerbread houses 12-20-2014

We've had a tradition to make Gingerbread houses with Matt's parents for the past couple of years with this year being number 3. We started it when I was pregnant with Kara as I couldn't do too much that I usually like to do during the winter time, so we started the tradition and we have kept it going.

This time, we decided to craft the houses at our house, so if we took too long Kara could go to bed. We had Papa Murphy's pizza - half was bacon, bacon, bacon, and the other was gourmet vegetarian (my favorite). We also bought a dessert smore's pizza, which is absolutely fantastic!

We bought the gingerbread houses at Michaels a couple days before, but before Ma and Pops arrived we had to run to the store to get items for baking/making the holiday treats for the neighbors on Sunday and pick up the pizzas.

I took most of the pictures of the process and kept Kara occupied, while Matt and his parents "focused" on their houses. You can totally tell the determination and concentration from the pictures. Kara played, watched Minnie Mouse, and helped me when she wanted to put something on our fun house.

Kara playing with the bubble wrap and when she was finished,
she put it in the garbage can.

Caught on camera licking his fingers.

Matt's creation

Mine and Kara's teamwork

Pops' creation

Mom's creation (she didn't like hers as much as Pops or Matt's)

Funny part that the messiest people from the activity were Matt's parents. We enjoyed ourselves as usual and can't wait to keep the tradition going.

I also caught Kara on camera that morning saying "forgurt" which means music

We also sent a "Happy Birthday" to Uncle Hans as he turned 32.
