Oregon Trip - Oct, 1-7 part 1

Well, we had planned to go to Oregon to see our niece get married, but that got postponed, so we decided to move up our trip a couple weeks.

We left on Wednesday morning as soon as Matt got home from his graveyard shift. The plan was for him to sleep in the car while I drove. We had hotel arrangements in Pendleton, OR, which was a 10 hour drive.

With me being pregnant and us having Kara, we needed to stop about every 3 hours for bathroom breaks, to eat, and stretch our legs.

The drive to Pendleton was pretty uneventful. Kara did really well. Matt got some sleep with his ear plugs and face mask. Kara had other ideas about keeping her dad awake though.

Matt didn't quite like our hotel, but it turned out to be perfect for us. The closet was extra deep, so we put Kara's pack and play in it, so she couldn't see us. Matt and I had our own queen beds, which turned out to be comfortable enough to get a good night sleep.

Kara's surprise for the road trip - Her keys and a Curious George

We ate at Shari's in Pendleton, OR. All the people there loved Kara
and how friendly she was. We paid our bill and got out to the car, but I
had to go back in and lost my dinner to the toilet.

Kara found a phone to play with in the hotel.

We woke up on Thursday and had breakfast at the hotel. While eating breakfast, we got a call from Matt's brother-in-law, Trent to tell us a "different" route to avoid Portland traffic. Lets just say the "different" route took us totally away from Portland, had a drive 3 extra hours, with no restrooms or food places for those 3 hours. Kara got carsick and threw up! Matt got frustrated and pissed off! I got annoyed at Matt! Good times! Late we found out, Trent had never even been on that route before, so we still give him a hard time.

First town we found to stop in with a bathroom. It was disgusting!
The town was only open for the summer too.

Luckily, we had a cooler with some snack that we made due for our lunch.

Part of our drive, right before everything got BAD!!
