Bells Canyon Hike 8-9-2013

We decided we wanted to go on another hike, so we packed our bags and decided to go to Bells Canyon to see the waterfall. Well, little did we know it was going to be like doing a stair climber for 1 1/2 hours straight. Matt was of course fantastic as he has been doing P90x for sometime. Not quite the same story for me. Matt carried Kara. I carried the food and water and Kara supplies.
It was beautiful and hard at the same time. I think I could have cried once or twice, but I told myself to suck it up and to keep going. But my mind did keep thinking that I might be one of those stories of having to have the rescue department come and get me cause I couldn't make it off the mountain.
Well that obviously didn't happen, but we did make it up the mountain to the beautiful waterfall. We had lunch and came back down. Never again do I want to do this hike, but it was fun!

Freezer Meals

I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with the best kind of friend. One who takes pity on me and helps me with my cooking.

I have found that I am liking cooking more and more as I get to stay home and Kristin is helping me to figure it out. We have made crockpot freezer meals twice now. Kristin is the meat cutter and I am the sauce mixer. She has also shown me how to make zucchini bread (my neighbors love the recipe!) and can spaghetti sauce and salsa.

We made some freezer meals on 8-8-2013 at my house. The kids had alot of fun helping us and helping Matt. Matt did yard work while we prepped the meals.

Lagoon 7-10-2013

Went to Harmons Lagoon Day this year on 7-10-2013. Just me and Matt. We left Kara with Matt's mom so we could have a date. We were both tired and only stayed 4 hours, but the lines were short because it was 106 degrees. We hit the rides before having dinner at the Harmons Lagoon pavilion. While we ate dinner, they announced the winners for the prize drawings and I won a TV!

Babysitting Leili

Sometimes Kara and I get to hangout with Leili while Kali has to work. One of the times, I was able to capture some binkie stealing by Leili. She loves Kara's binkies! I have loved watching these two interact, especially as they are getting bigger.

Friendly Dinner 7-26-2013

We finally got together with our hiking buddies, Laura and Charlie, and had dinner because our planned hike didn't work out. We went to Archibald's restaurant in Gardner Village. We had fun and enjoyed their company as always.

Chelsey came to visit

Chelsey loves the 24th of July and since they don't celebrate it in Washington, she comes back home to visit. We had a blast and I got to go to everything since I get to now stay at home with Kara.

Splash Pad on 7-19-2013
We had alot of fun once we found a cool splash pad. We tried the one at Liberty Park first. Lame, but lots of shade! Since it was lame, we packed up and went to the one on Fort Union. Awesome, but no shade. Thankfully, our Aunt Kathy lives close so my mom could get a coke and a umbrella.

We played in the water and had lunch in the 100 degree weather.

Fondue 7-21-2013
I had some friends over for a game night and we didn't get to the fondue, so I shared it with my family instead. It was fun having the kids dip the items into the chocolate. My favorite was giving Lydia items especially the cinnamon bears.

Pioneer Day 7-24-2013
We had a BBQ at my mom's house and then went to see the fireworks. Kara loved them for about 15 seconds, but didn't want to lay down, so we enjoyed them sitting up. 

7 Peaks Water Park 7-25-2013

We even went to 7 Peaks Water Park in Salt Lake. We enjoyed ourselves. We had 6 adults and Arlee. Arlee turned out to LOVE Kali and Shawn and always wanted to ride with them. We didn't get many pictures as it was at a water park, but I got a few at the end.

We had alot of time just being at my mom's and hanging out with the cousins - Kasiah, Arlee, Lydia, Leili, and Kara...no boys allowed as they were in a different state, but we missed having them too.
