Our Christmas fun has just begun....

First up was the fire place, then came the tree, the lights, and finally our little village. With moving into our new house, organization has been the key, just one room at a time was all it took to make our house feel like home and got us itching for our Christmas.

The first Christmas outing come on Tuesday, December 4th. A quick outing for dinner at Gardner village, where we looked for the elves around the Christmas decorated village. We even found pillows that Matt's mom would enjoy!

Once the decor was up, we had time for some fun. Surprising Matt with tickets to the Hobbit is where it started on Thursday, December 13th. We had fun with our best friends, which was to start off a early weekend planned of lights and shopping. The weather and someone's cold changed our plans to a night out on the town at City Creek Center for Friday night lights and then back home for dinner.

Saturday came with snow on the ground, but we choose to stay all nestled in bed to cuddle for much needed time of sleep. We rose for smoothies and leftover pizza as breakfast, brunch, or lunch, which ever you prefer to say. We watched a movie and relaxed the day away. As darkness fell, we got ready to go, as we were going to be making ginger bread houses and people with Mattie's parents. So much fun we had and you  will be able to tell from the pictures below.

Sunday also came with rest in the morning and church in the afternoon. We rounded out the night with a dinner with family and a movie once we returned home. Oh what a weekend of fun and cheer! We are excited for this year's Christmas cheer!

We are Pregnant....a little late announcing, but better late than never!

So I know this post is really late...as I am now 6 1/2 months pregnant, but better late than never.

So the story goes, like this. We found out we were pregnant on Monday, July 16th. I was driving to work and realized I was late, so I remembered I had a pregnancy test at home that I could take that night when I got home.

Why did I even think I was pregnant? Well on Saturday, July 14th, I had done a lot of yard work at my parent's rental and had some lower sciatic back problems, which hadn't happened since 4 years before when I was pregnant before. Also, I realized that I had been craving snow cones during my work's summer party the week before. Plus, I had prayed specifically to get pregnant that month!

I came home from work, took the pregnancy test, and it said "Pregnant". Matt was in the shower, so I put the pregnancy test on the counter and sat at the computer to record his reaction when he found the test.

We didn't believe the results at first and wanted to make sure everything was okay, so we made an appointment with the miscarriage doctor that I had seen after having miscarried in 2009.
Posts about that to follow with ultrasound pictures.

Dadoon or Lagoon

We love our little Katie so much. It is fun listening her talk and say words. I got her on video saying Lagoon...well something like that. It is funny to listen as the kids grow up and start speaking more clearly.

4th of July

I love July. It reminds me about how great our Country is and that we have wonderful freedoms that we get to enjoy.

We went to Matt's parents annual flag raising ceremony for their ward. I especially liked when they ask the retired armed forces to stand. Matt's dad stood up for being a paratrooper.

Kiss Me Dirty Race

My best friend, Kristin, asked me to join some of her friends and run in the Kiss Me Dirty Race.

Kiss Me Dirty is a 5K female-only mud obstacle course run designed for women of all athletic abilities, with a portion of proceeds benefiting gynecological cancer research. Kiss Me Dirty courses & obstacles are designed to offer a fun, safe and rewarding challenge to females looking to get together with their closest gal pals for some good ol' DIRTY times!

Well we had fun on the obstacles and in the mud. The only bad part about the run is that the mud dries. I don't like dirty finger nails. We had fun though together and are possibly thinking about doing it next year.
