First as I typed the header for this post...it made me paused. Why? Well ever since I had Kara, its like I went back in age to 26. So in my mind I will be turning 27 in January. Oh well, what do they say, age is only a state on mind.
Matt was actually off for his birthday so we made a weekend of it.
First, Matt and I went away to Park City for his actual birthday. My mom watched Kara for us. It was a little interesting to be without Kara, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Matt is use to being away from Kara with his work schedule, but it was my first time not seeing her for 24 hours.
I wanted to go a different way to Park City, so we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon and over Guardsman Pass. We hiked a little at the top of Guardsman Pass before heading over the mountain to Park City.
We checked into the hotel and then went up Main Street to find a place for dinner.
We enjoyed a nice dinner together and got a treat at the Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory. We had a nice evening watching a movie after a soothing soak in the hot tub.
It was interesting without Kara, but we were able to sleep through the night and enjoyed a full night sleep. We ate breakfast at the hotel and went home to get Kara before heading to have dinner at the Elswoods.
Kristin asked Matt what he wanted for dinner. Matt being his funny silly self asked for Greek food. Kristin responded okay to his request. So we had Greek for our celebration for Matt's birthday. It tasted fantastic.
We also had Matt's favorite cake, German Chocolate Cake.
While we were at the Elswoods, David invited Matt to go golfing the next day. So off they went the next morning. David even got me a couple of pictures of Matt using his golf clubs.
Saturday afternoon, we finished Matt's birthday weekend by celebrating our niece's 1st birthday. She didn't want to share Matt's birthday, so she came a day later. We still love her though and had fun watching her not like the idea of touching her cake.
It was a nice weekend together!
