Friend Camping Trip 8-23-2013

We had a friend camping trip this year up at Kamas. It was a little rainy on Friday when we got up there, but we still ended up having a blast that night. Kara's first time sleeping in a tent, which wasn't the best, but not too bad.

Matt and I went up a little early to drive to Smith and Morehouse Reservoir. We had fun driving through the puddles until Matt stalled out the engine.

 After puddle hopping, we went to a local diner. They had good food.

We played games on Friday night and had smores. Saturday, we had breakfast and then went 4 wheeling. Matt and Jared rode the 4 wheelers, while everyone else road in the side by side. We had a ton of fun. We even ate dinner at the Polar King in Oakley before coming home to a rain storm. 

Hopefully this will be a yearly event as we had so much fun! 

Cecret Lake Hike 8-22-2013

Back into the great outdoors for another hike. This time we went to Cecret Lake up Little Cottonwood Canyon. And boy do I mean up it, we went to the very end. It was beautiful and cold when we started. We weren't smart enough to bring jackets, so we scavengered through our trunk and my mom's. We (my mom, Kali, Leili, Matt, Kara, and I) hiked up the mountain, enjoyed a beautiful view, found the lake, ate lunch, and climbed back down. We also saw a moose on the way up thanks to Matt's keen eyesight.

Movie at the Park 8-16-2013

Matt had to work and I didn't want to sit at home by myself, so I decided to go to a movie at the park. They were showing Avengers, so I called and asked Kali and Shawn to come. Kali took pity on me and they came once she found out I was going to go by myself with Kara.

It was fun, but the ground was wet. Oh well, next time I will bring a tarp.

Kara learning to eat food

Well Kara got the green light to start eating food at her 4 month appointment. Not many instructions on what to do except to start her off with rice cereal and make sure she didn't get constipated.

Well I am glad that I have friends and family to ask for advice. Thanks for the helpful hints! They help both of us out!

We finally bought a high chair. Matt found one at kid to kid for $30. Nice find and it had all the things I wanted it to have.

Alan Jackson Concert 8-10-2013

My friend, Tifanie, from work got extra tickets to the Alan Jackson concert and was sweet and invited us along. It worked out perfectly as Matt was off work, so we found a sitter (Kali) and joined the country folk for an outdoor concert at Usana Amphitheater.

Beautiful weather and we even had fireworks from the Kearns' Fire, Water, and Ice festival going on later in the concert.
