Well after watching or I should say trying to watch Conference with Logan and Kara, I mentioned to Kara that we could go see the building that was on the TV and on her magazine cover. She got excited and we kinda made a day of it. I picked my mom up, so she could help me pick up a prize at FM100.3 station that I had won and then headed to the Conference Center.
We parked right next to the Temple. I put enough money in the parking meter for 40 minutes thinking that should be enough time. We got the kids unloaded and started our tour with the waterfall. Kara wasn't too keen on it, because it was loud. We went inside to find a tour that we could go on. I was secretly hoping we could just walk around ourselves, but not as much since September 11th happened.
A nice old man was our tour guide and he had some interesting facts to tell us about the conference center. Kara tried to listen as much as a 3 year old could. We finally got up to the gardens on top of the building. I forgot how big the gardens were. There were some fun water features and statues up top too.
I knew our parking meter time had expired before we got to the rooftop, but I was hoping for a quick tour, which didn't happened. As we were looking over the edge, we saw the bicycle parking meter person giving my car a ticket. $25 parking spot, not the best idea. Next time we will park at the mall and walk over.
After we got done with our tour, I moved the car to the parking lot at City Creek and walked back over to the Temple grounds to meet my mom. We were hungry and trying to decide were to eat for lunch. Not exactly the best time as everyone else was deciding where to eat also. We ended up over at the Harmons and ate outside on the outdoor park. It was a nice relaxing lunch too.
Logan enjoyed being able to walk around for a bit with his applesauce.
