We decided to go to Temple Square on a Thursday night. We were hoping it wouldn't be as busy as on a weekend. We invited my mom to come with us and it turned out my dad was going to go to. This was a total shock as I can't ever remember him going to see the lights.
We meet up at the Harmons City Creek store to have dinner in a less crowded area and to park there. My dad was fascinated with the store as he had never seen it before. It took awhile to decide what to eat for the four of us, but we eventually got our food and found a table to sit down at. After eating, we got bundled up again and went out in the cold to see the lights.
We saw pretty much every area, except going into where the Christus Statue was at. Way too busy! We stopped off in the South visitor center to get warm and see the small replica of the temple. It is really fun to look at as it shows the insides too and Matt told my dad his stories of the areas he had been in while working at Temple Square before we got married.
We ended our fun by going to the Joseph Smith Memorial building, getting hot chocolate, and heading to the 10th floor to the viewing area that over looks the Temple. We even found a little nook to sit and enjoy our hot chocolate.
We had a fun and tiresome night. Kara didn't get to bed until about 10:30. Way over her bedtime, but she did great!
