9-19-2016 - Disneyland Trip - Matt's 35th Birthday & Last Day

Well, last day at Disneyland was also Matt's 35th Birthday! Yikes I can't believe he is that old.

We got him a small present to open on his birthday, not the least to say, this whole Disneyland trip was for his birthday. We got him a Donald Duck shirt to wear on his last day and a pair of Batman pajama pants.

The park didn't open until 10am, so we actually made it into the park to line up to be the first one on the rides. Our goal was to be one of the first in line for Peter Pan, since we hadn't ridden the ride and we would definitely be able to cute down on the wait time that is always 40-45 minute wait.

Kids hanging out on the park bench waiting to get past the rope line. We weren't able to get the to look and smile at the same time.

Well the rope dropped and we headed straight for Peter Pan. The line just kept moving and we kept walking, thinking this was great and we were going to get through the line quickly and head to some other rides before heading over to Toon Town.

Low and behold the ride broke down. Why would it break down 5 minutes into the park opening. So we waited, and Waited,  and WAITED.  We waited about 45 minutes to get on the ride. Lets just say, I wasn't the nicest person to be in line with. I wanted to get out of line and go ride something else. Well we left it up to Matt and he wanted to stay. I hate having a plan and something changing my plan that I don't have control over.

Plus it was HOT and we were crowded by a whole bunch of people. CLAUSTROPHOBIC nightmare. I got through it though and rode with my mom. Matt wanted both the kids to ride with him.

We raced over to Toon Town to see the Characters come to the gate. Matt had Kara and tried to get her to be able to hold a character's hand but the bigger kids kept pushing her out of the way.

It was nice to be one of the firsts in Toon Town though as we got to get some pretty quick pictures with Minnie, Mickey, and Donald.

Waiting in line to see Mickey.

We found Donald Duck too.

Kara playing for a bit in Toon Town.

Matt took the kids to the Tea Cups to go for a spin.

We then went to Casey Junior Train. I hadn't realized it was the train off of Dumbo.

After waiting in line for the train, we were hot and ornery. So we decided to stop at the Enchanted Tiki Room to eat lunch, get a Dole Whip, and enjoy the bird show in the air conditioning.

Kara, Matt, and my mom rode Big Thunder Mountain one last time before we headed over to the Tower of Terror.

We finally convinced Kara to go on the Tower of Terror since it would be the last time we would be able to. We told her we would hold her down this time and make sure she didn't fly too much off of her seat. I carried her until we were able to sit down in our seats.

Holding Kara down. At least this time, she didn't cry.

Kara and Matt playing in Bugs Land while Logan was asleep in the stroller and my mom was off riding CARS for the last time.

Well, my mom was flying home a day earlier than we were, so she could drive to Reno the next day with my dad to see my sister, Lyndsay. We took one last picture with Walt and Mickey at the front of California Adventure before she walked back to the hotel to get the shuttle for the airport.

We went to the Disney Jr show after my mom left.

After watching Disney Jr, we headed over to the Redcreek Challenge Trail. We had never really been in here before. Definitely should have come here sooner and for a longer time. Its a perfect area for Logan and Kara to just run around. We didn't have that much time to spend here as we had dinner reservations for Matt's birthday dinner.

Kara riding the tire swing. I didn't think she was going to be big enough but she sure has some upper body strength.

Matt wanted to eat the Monte Crisco at Cafe Orleans. So I made sure we had reservations for his birthday so he could have his wish.

Guzzling down drinks before our food arrived. The kids had chocolate milk and we had cokes. For some reason, coke taste so much better in Disneyland.

Mine and Logan's meal. I didn't like anything on the adult menu.

Kara's meal. Her Mac & Cheese was delicious.

Matt and his Monte Crisco. He loved it, but it was sure hug. I even had a bit of it too. It was tasty for a bit but there was no way I could eat that much fried food.

We ordered some beignets for dessert. Tasty treat. Matt even got to blow out a candle on his 35th Birthday.

Logan and I being goofy over the Mickey Mouse Beignets.

One last ride on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Family ride on the Haunted Mansion. We were all able to sit in the same car.

We came out of the Haunted Mansion thinking that the park was closing, but found out it was open another hour. Matt and Kara were so happy they got to play for another hour.

Logan and I went on Winnie the Pooh a couple times while we waited for Kara and Matt to ride Splash Mountain one last time.

Matt and Kara riding Splash Mountain. Her FAVORITE ride.

We went on Winnie the Pooh together two more times as a family.

Our very last ride we rode was Kara's choice was Astro Orbiter. Yes, I even went on the ride since it was our last. We went around and around to many times for my tastes but the kids and Matt loved it.

View of the castle from Astro Orbiter as we went around in circles.

We stopped by the castle to try and get some pictures before leaving the park.

Making a wish in the wishing well.

Kara's attempt at taking a picture of me and Matt in front of the castle.

Logan fell asleep on the walk back to the hotel.

Well we got the kids in bed and then packed up everything just so we could have some leeway time in the morning since we had to be on our shuttle at 9:15am.

Matt also slept in the kids' room with Kara so if she had any problems while sleeping on the bunk bed she wouldn't be scared, since my mom wasn't sleeping in the room with her anymore.
