6-27-2016 - Flower Girl Hair

We got back from camping on June 26th and I planned on spending the Monday, June 27th doing laundry and putting the house back together while Matt was at his orientation day at the U of U hospital. While taking a break and stretching on the floor, Kara asked if she could do my hair. When I told her yes, she disappeared upstairs and brought down all her bows. We ended up playing flower girl. She has such a fun and great imagination.

6-18-2016 - Mommy daughter date - Horseback riding

Kara and I had been having a rough couple days as Mommy/Daughter. After she had a bloody nose that day and many temper tantrums from the previous days before, I was desperate for a rest with her. I was able to take her out to the horses. This time we brought her bike helmet, so she would have protection. I also did some ground work with Bubbles before letting Kara onto her back.

After Kara rode around the arena a couple times with Liz leading Bubbles and me at her leg holding onto her tight, I decided to try and ride with Kara in front of me. I ended up putting a bridle on Bubbles and actually riding Bubbles with no one leading us around. It was great and I loved having Kara with me.

After we rode around for a bit together, Kara said she wanted to watch me ride fast. I gave her my phone to hold while I trotted Bubbles around. Kara took some fun photos while I rode.

It was the reset that we needed. No one tells you how hard it can be to be a mom sometimes with a little person trying to be there own person. But it sure can be great more times than I can count.

Love Kara and how she is growing.

6-17-2016 - Big Trucks Family Date

We headed to Herriman Days for a quick trip and family fun. It is hard to have Matt working quite a lot, so on his 7 on, once in a while we will have a quick family trip somewhere. It is usually the grocery store just to spend some time together.

We saw a lot of BIG trucks and Kara loved climbing in all of them. It was nice to be able to see them up close and have her be able to look at them. She has always loved tractors since she was 1.

6-11-2016 - Family Day Date

Matt had the Saturday off, so we went and ran errands. We bought him some new garments and a new belt. He lost alot of weight and his belt no longer fit, so we got him two new ones. After shopping, we went to the Health Fair at Riverton hospital. The weather was a bit rainy, windy, and cold, so it was a good thing alot of the Health Fair was inside the hospital. We had a lot of fun.

After Riverton hospital, we headed to the District for lunch. The kids love to play in the play place, so I left Matt and the kids while I ran to JC Penney to do some shopping. It was a win-win trip and lunch date.

I absolutely love family dates!

6-9-2016 - This is the Place Heritage Park

This is the Place Heritage Park had their free day on Thursday, June 9th that the Huntsman family sponsors every year. They even provide free ice cream to everyone. I was a bit apprehensive about going because free days are so busy usually, but decided to try it anyway. I had planned for Matt to go with us, but he ended up having his interview at the U of U hospital and then had to work at Mountain Medical. So I invited Matt's parents to get them out of the house and Kali to come with us too.

I wanted to be there early and right when it opened at 10am, but I fought with the kids to get them out the door and we left a little bit late. When we got there, there was a huge line to get into the park. I thought oh boy what did I sign up for.

Well, the line wasn't too bad and we got a good parking spot. We meet Matt's parents in the parking lot and actually were able to meet Matt for an hour after his interview and before work. Kara was surprised to see him and it was nice to eat ice cream with him before he had to leave.

After Matt left, we headed to the train. We rode the train up to the Native American part of the park, while Kali and Kyla walked.

Kids waited in line for the train and got to the front of the line and the train broke down. While we waited in line, a butterfly decided to land on Kara's head. While we waited for the train to take a break, we went and ate lunch. After lunch, we rode the small train and then headed down to the splash pad to cool off.

Video - Logan's first splash pad. He loved it.

Matt's parents wondered into the sweets store and came to the splash pad with a supply of goodies. The kids loved coming to them for sweets and then running to play in the water.

After the splash pad, we saw that the pony ride line was short and decided to wait in line. Well it took 1/2 an hour at least to get the kids' turn. But they sure did like it.

We had a really fun day and it wasn't too busy even being a free day either.
