Meal Plans - May 2016

Well if you know me at all, I hate to cook. Why? Well I haven't ever been really good at making up my own recipes or following anyone else's without screwing it up. But I told Matt, once we had kids I would start cooking dinner. To be fair, we have been married almost 12 years and have never had a meal plan. What have we eaten, who know. We are still alive and our kids are growing, so something at least.

I decided to sign up for the Six Sisters Weekly Meal Plan. I told Matt I would make the plan and buy the groceries, if he would cook. This was our first week of making the meals. It has been nice to sit down to a family dinner and not be rushing around the counter and getting items for the kids. Mind you it hasn't been the easiest thing though. New foods for the kids and sometimes a bit spicy, but I like the family dinners and look forward to it since it is all planned out and everything has been bought and we have the ingredients.

Fun Day 5-11-2016

May 11 was a busy and fun day for us. We went on a walk along the Jordan River Parkway with my mom while going out to do some errands.

I took my mom out with me to go ride, since Terri wasn't able to. I let my mom ride Bubbles in the arena. She like cantering the best, because she likes the speed.

After I got back from riding, we took the kids to North Salt Lake to pick up a camera for Matt to be able to make his YouTube videos. We grabbed some dinner at a local dinner and went to the park to enjoy ourselves and the kids.

Such a fantastically fun and fulfilling day!

Mother's Day 5-8-2016

Matt worked Mother's Day again, but he let me sleep in for a bit, while he got the kids ready for church after getting home from work. He made me my edible strawberry bouquet too. Kara told me about my card the night before, but I loved it just the same.

Matt wasn't able to visit his mom, so we went and said Happy Mom's Day to her and give her some new pictures of the grandkids for her present.

We ate dinner with my mom and also got her some earrings. They remind me of my Gram.

Kara gave this to me after nursery. I loved the saying!

Cavalia Odysseo 5-2-2016

Our Cavalia Odysseo date was WAY too much fun. I first saw the white tent in California and thought it would be fun to go to while we were on our trip to Disneyland. Then I looked at the prices and thought, YA RIGHT.

Well, one day I was driving down I-15 and saw a big white tent going up at South Towne Mall. Checked it out and found out it was the horse show I wanted to see in California. I was tempted to apply for a 12 week job but decided against it because of Matt's work schedule and I was able to ride horses more.

BUT I did finally talk myself into asking Matt if we could go to the show, just jokingly, but for real. After weeks of debating and not thinking we should go, I booked the tickets, after finding a discount code. We went ALL out to for the VIP experience. It was the lowest VIP experience tier, but it was still fantastic.

Matt's parents watched the kids for us at our house while we went. We left at 5:00pm and arrived about 5:30, since we were having dinner as part of our package. The VIP tent and food were pretty good. ALL you could eat and drink.

They gave us popcorn for the show and drinks too. The show was the most intense and amazing thing I have seen. Acrobats, people flipping everywhere, the HORSES, what the riders could do on the horses, and the music. It was so intense, I couldn't breathe sometimes. If it would have ended at intermission, I would have been happy. But we had intermission in the VIP tent with desserts and drinks again. We also got more popcorn before the second half of the show started. The second half was just as great as the first part. After the show, we were able to go and see the stables. Matt was okay and could have left after seeing the first couple of horses, but I want to see them all. He was a good sport and said it was an "absolutely amazing" show.

Such a wonderful and fun date. So glad we spent the money even if it took me weeks to be okay with doing so.
