Kara's Frenectomy - 8-14-2015

We had done the research and talked to some different people and decided to get a frenectomy done on Kara. Matt's family has a very pronounced history of this. Matt took Kara on Friday, August 14th, while I stayed home with Logan as I had to nurse him and I didn't feel the best anyway. 

Matt took some videos of Kara on the sedation medicine to help her be calm and not remember the procedure. He had a good time watching her and recording her as you can tell. 

Bear Lake w/ Elswoods - 8/1/2015 to 8/4/2015

We went with our besties, the Elswoods, again to Bear Lake. We rented a condo again and shared the cost which makes it fantastic way to spend time with enough space for the kids. This year was alot better than the previous when I was pregnant and sick with Logan. We had Kara sleep in the closet again in a pack and play and Logan slept in the bedroom with us. We got up in the morning and packed up after I nursed Logan hoping that I wouldn't have to nurse him again until we got to Bear Lake. 

We stopped in Logan to see my friend Brian as we passed through. He was helping some neighbors cut down a tree so we watched until he was freed up. Pretty crazy as he was up as high as the rope and I don't really do heights.

We grabbed lunch at a Ma and Pa place and went to the park before heading up the canyon.

We went swimming the first day, well everyone except Logan and I. The water was too cold.

We had 1 day of nice weather that we took advantage of and went to the beach. We played ALL day. It was alot of fun. Next time will be even better as Logan will be old enough and walking to get into the water.

One night I got bored and asked Kristin if I could do her hair. It was more of a juvenile hair style, but if your not use to doing hair it was fun.

We went out to eat and had some pretty good food.

Good old times. The weather was a little better than in 2014 when we went but not much better. For some reason when the Monsons and Elswoods get together it rains. So we joke, if there is a drought anywhere have us come to your area for vacation together and you will get non-stop rain for days.

Logan's first baby food - 8/6/2015

In the morning on 8-6-2015, we (my mom, Kara, Logan, and I) went to JC Penney to look for some clothes. While there, Kara found a Minnie Mouse backpack and wore it around the store. I gave in and bought it for her. She looked so darn cute!

Matt got up and had the opportunity to feed Logan his first rice cereal while I took pictures.

Kara - No More Binkies - 8-5-2015

We got back from our trip to Bear Lake on Tuesday, August 4th and let Kara have one more night with her binkies. It was more for us as we thought we wouldn't get any sleep for the next couple of nights.

We woke up on Wednesday, August 5th and let Kara know it was time to trade in her binkies. Matt took her to Build-a-Bear and let her pick out any animal she wanted. She chose a pony and named it "Pink". I didn't want to go as I was emotional and didn't want her to grow up. Well Kara laid down for a nap fairly well that day and also went to bed just fine that night with only a few tears. 

I am pretty sure it hit me more as I wasn't ready for her to grow up yet, but she did and only asked for a binkie about a month later at her first naptime at Bonka's house. 

July 22-25, 2015 - Nissy was Here

Nissy and her family came to town for a couple days. They arrive late afternoon on 7-22 and early morning on 7-26, so while they were here we played HARD. 

7-22-2015 - We spent time at my mom's once Nissy got here to see the kids as the next day they were going to Lagoon. 

7-23-2015 - Nissy, David, Jayden, Braxton, and Jake went to Lagoon. Kali and I hung out at my mom's and played with Lilly. 

7-24-2015 - We went to 7 Peaks for the morning. My mother in-law took Logan for me so I could just hang out with Kara. We ended up even going on some tube slides. She had a blast. We also went to see the Liberty Fireworks that night. My mom rode with me as Matt was working and I would be alone with Kara and Logan.

7-25-2015 - In the morning we went to the zoo, so Nissy and her family could see the dinosaurs. My dad even ended up coming which was quite unusual.

That night, Kali, Nissy, and I ended up and the Toby Keith concert. Luckily, I had a friend who had an extra ticket and she took pity on me and let me have it for a pack of Diet Coke. Thanks Tif!

Jayden had been wanting to hold Logan but we were on the go so much while they were in town that he didn't get the chance until 7-25-2015 when we were gone to the concert. I asked my mom to make sure he got to hold him and she snapped a picture for me.
