Snowboarding

So it seems like I always write about things I like to do or what Matt and I have done together. Well one thing Matt really enjoys doing in the winter months is snowboarding. Mind you I have never tried this and think it is insane to out both your feet onto one object that are trapped and you head down a step mountain while trying not to fall down. I prefer sledding myself as you don't have to ride a long and scary ski lift to get to the place where the fun is suppose to start.

Back to Matt. He has a group from his work he goes with that one of his best buddies goes with. So they have fun their crazy own way.

Here are some pictures of Matt on one of his days on the mountain:

Halloween 2012

I know I am going backwards a little bit as it is now January, BUT I am trying to catch up on what has happened.

We had a relaxing Halloween. Last year (2011), I saw ladies out trick-o-treating with their little ones and had costumes centered around their pregnant bellies. Well, when we found out in July we were pregnant, I decided if the pregnancy stuck this time, I would have a trick-o-treating costume centered around the pregnant belly. I came up with my idea of what I wanted. Matt figured out the style and my mom-in-law helped me perfect it.

Matt also centered our pumpkin carving to match my costume.

Picture that inspired my costume and our pumpkin

My costume. I came up with the saying.

We also went to Lagoon to experience the haunted houses and let Matt have one last hoorah with our season passes I had so ingeniously bought not expecting we won't be using them very much as I was so sick for the first 15 weeks. We were going to meet up with the Elswoods, but only David came for a really good reason that I can't remember right now. So Mattie and David rode the rides and I walked around with them and waited on the bench and just enjoyed the weather.

Our Christmas fun has just begun....

First up was the fire place, then came the tree, the lights, and finally our little village. With moving into our new house, organization has been the key, just one room at a time was all it took to make our house feel like home and got us itching for our Christmas.

The first Christmas outing come on Tuesday, December 4th. A quick outing for dinner at Gardner village, where we looked for the elves around the Christmas decorated village. We even found pillows that Matt's mom would enjoy!

Once the decor was up, we had time for some fun. Surprising Matt with tickets to the Hobbit is where it started on Thursday, December 13th. We had fun with our best friends, which was to start off a early weekend planned of lights and shopping. The weather and someone's cold changed our plans to a night out on the town at City Creek Center for Friday night lights and then back home for dinner.

Saturday came with snow on the ground, but we choose to stay all nestled in bed to cuddle for much needed time of sleep. We rose for smoothies and leftover pizza as breakfast, brunch, or lunch, which ever you prefer to say. We watched a movie and relaxed the day away. As darkness fell, we got ready to go, as we were going to be making ginger bread houses and people with Mattie's parents. So much fun we had and you  will be able to tell from the pictures below.

Sunday also came with rest in the morning and church in the afternoon. We rounded out the night with a dinner with family and a movie once we returned home. Oh what a weekend of fun and cheer! We are excited for this year's Christmas cheer!
