8-11-2016 to 8-19-2016 - Chelsey's visit

Chelsey came back for another visit about a month after her July visit. Short time in between, oh yeah, we love seeing her and hanging out. 

This time we had to share her with Hans' family but we had a bunch of fun while she was here anyways.

We had dinner at my mom's and the kids played in the backyard.

We had an impromptu sister's night out to Leatherbys. It was alot of fun to get out together and giggle. Too bad it had to end, but we were stuffed and tired.

8-11-2016 - Logan's first dentist appointment

So Logan's teeth are nothing like his sister's, which are spaced out nicely and quite even. Logan's teeth are already crooked and growing on top of each other. So once I noticed his top teeth literally growing on top of each other, I made him a dentist appointment to go at the same time as Kara's check up.

I asked my mom to come with in case something was wrong with Kara's teeth or I needed help with Logan. Yeah, she probably didn't need to come, but the "just in case" factor was covered.

Kara did perfect for her appointment. She even got her teeth cleaned and flossed. I promised her if she was good we could go buy her a book at the DI. She ended up getting a book.

Logan needed an x-ray of his teeth so he sat on my lap and looked in the prize box while they got a picture of his front teeth. Perfect picture and he was great.

Dentist ended up telling me he had an extra tooth and it had fused itself to the other one. He said it wasn't common but since he was a dentist he saw it all the time. He said the best thing would be if Logan just has it for his baby teeth and not for his permanent teeth.

Funny thing is, I was telling my mother-in-law about it and she said "Oh, yeah, John has an extra tooth and so did his twin James." So I guess, Logan has inherited his funky extra tooth from Matt's side of the family.

8-9-2016 - Bored, so I cooked

Well Matt was working another shift at a hospital and it was hot outside, so I decided to let my air conditioner work and turned on my oven to cook.

If you know me, I don't like cooking, but with a meal plan and menu, I figured what the hey. I started cooking while the kids were asleep. 

I made sweet potato fries, chicken taco salad, and meatloaf. Sweet potato fries are disgusting. The taco salad was delicious and so was the meatloaf. 

After cooking and the sun had gone down, we went for a walk. Ally, one of the neighbor girls, that Kara loves and says they are friends, went around the block with us 3 times until it was time to go to bed. Thank goodness for a small neighborhood and a cool night. We probably went around too many time because Kara was up crying that night that her legs hurt.

8-6-2016 - Home Depot - kid build day

I went with the kids to Home Depot for the kids build day. I called my mom and asked if she wanted to meet us with Leili and Kyla, since Kali, Shawn, and my dad were working on their deck.

It was Leili's first time and Kara's second. The project was a bit more involved this time with painting, so Logan and Kyla played in the cart while we tried helping Kara and Leili paint their skateboard pencil boxes. Everyone had fun. We got a bit messy and Kyla and Logan were done being waiting, but it was a good time distraction for the morning.

8-6-2016 - Double date with Elswoods

 We finally made it on a double date with our Elswoods. Its been forever since we have done this. I mean years. We use to party it up alot before kids, but now its different. But oh, we so played like we didn't have kids.

We met up at the Madarin in Bountiful. It was a very small looking restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood, but it was some good Chinese food. We even got to have a "secret" menu item that wasn't on the menu, thanks to Kristin's friend and her recommendation.

Our fortunes were pretty lame, but I had to document them all just the same. 

After dinner, we headed to Station Park for a movie. We had time to kill so we went to an interesting shop that has funky foods from all around the world. Everyone got a funky snack or two, but I headed over to Harmons to get some more traditional snacks and some regular good American kind of chocolate. We ended up seeing the new Bourne movie. It was pretty good. 

So nice to be out with adults enjoying ourselves and acting like we didn't have a care in the world. Miss old times like that and look forward to even more. 

8-4-2016 - Splash pad with Turkey

We hit the splash pad for a second time with Turkey this summer. We went to the splash pad on about 10400 S and 4000 W. It has a small river that runs through it plus some fun water features. It was a bit busy but we got a nice bench and I had the sportbrella so we made our own shade. We even brought lunch. I had quite a tough time getting out of the house with the kids. Logan poopy diaper, Kara throwing a temper tantrum, and me trying to make lunches. 

We eventually made it not too late and Kara and Logan had fun. Kara loved playing with Robbie. Too bad the summer has come to an end and we won't be able to do this any more. Now it will just be parks.
