7-23-2016 - Date night with Matt

Well, Matt had one of his only nights off in July, so we went on a date. Full blown date - we had dinner, an activity, and a movie. It was really weird cause we had a first time babysitter for us, feed the kids and put them to bed. No one has put our kids to bed but us or their grandparents.

I felt so free and enjoyed Matt so much.

We went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. We even splurged and got dessert.

After dinner, we headed to RC Willey to test out mattresses and pick up my new Superman vs Batman movie. Yes, the movie is mine, cause I love Superman.
We did narrowed the mattresses down but ran out of time to purchase one as our movie was about to start.

We watched Star Trek together at Jordan Landing. We love the reclining seats.

We came home to kids asleep in bed and the babysitter had done the dishes and straightened up the house.

SOO nice to have alone time with Matt. Miss him so much since he has started working at the U of U Hospital and IMC. Waiting out the time when he gets a full-time job at the U.

7-19-2016 - Pioneer Float Parade Preview

I can honestly say we have never been to the float preview before. I have my mom come with us, so she could have something to do and we had an extra hand.

Kara had a ton of fun with all the small craft and activities that people were putting on. I also enjoyed being able to walk around the entire float and see all the details that are on them. I remember helping build on when I was a teenager and really wanted to be on it but wasn't one of "those families" who got to. Oh well. New memories to make with my kids.

7-11-2016 - Hike with Elswoods

We went on a "hike" with the Elswoods. It was more of a stroll around Silver Lake as I wasn't too sure about hiking with Logan on my back, helping Kara, and carrying food. It was flat ground and I have been around the lake several times. Kristin and the kids never have so it was still an adventure. I forgot what hiking was like with little kids because I honestly haven't done it in a long time. Usual Kara and Logan are strapped on our backs but Kara walked the entire time. It took a long time to get around the lake cause the kids were curious and wanted to look, touch, and climb on everything. It was like herding cats, lovely cute cats, but cats all the same.

We stopped halfway around the lake and had a snack.

After we got around the lake, we found a picnic table and had lunch. The kids also got to play on the huge rocks by the picnic table.

Till our next hiking trip.

Chelsey Visit - 7-5-2016 to 7-8-2016

Chelsey came for a very quick visit the first of July after having spent a Hoge Family Reunion in Bear Lake.

We packed the schedule every day she was here.

7-5-2016 - Dinner at my moms
7-6-2016 - Lagoon (another post)
7-7-2016 - Splash pad
7-8-2016 - Seven Peaks (another post)

7-5-2016 - Chelsey got in town and we headed to my moms for dinner. After dinner, we played outside and enjoyed some popsicles.

Logan's first attempt at this kind of popsicle. He loved it. I didn't as much because he was all sticky.

7-7-2016 -
We headed to the splash pad out in West Jordan. Kids had a lot of fun getting wet for a couple of hours and we also enjoyed some lunch while we were there.

July 2016 - Kara Swim Lessons - 2nd Time

I ended up putting Kara in another round of swimming lessons - she loves them, needed to pass the first level, and its summer.

Kara got bumped from her first class to another class because there were so many kids, which turned out great as she only had 4 kids in her class. She ended up passing her level only after I was able to work with her in the pool at playgroup and getting her special pink goggles. I can't blame her of not wanting to put her face in the water and blow bubbles cause I can't stand it myself.
