Chelsey and Lyndsay here for Gram's funeral 7-26-2014

Well Chelsey was here for her annual visit and Lyndsay came up for my Gram funeral and it was the first time we had been together in sometime. Lyndsay arrived on Friday, July 25th. We were sad, but happy at the same time.

Kara getting to hold Ellie.

We goofed off with Chelsey and her family - Going to the Drive in movies. Matt's mom watched Kara for us at our house while we went. The movies were lousy, but we had fun being outside.

We also went to the Living Planet Aquarium.

We also had fun at a BBQ and swim party for the 24th of July and went and watched fireworks at Liberty Park. Kara did okay for the first bit, but she is such a busy body I had to stand with her for 15 minutes of the show.

Waiting for fireworks to start
Friday morning I went out horse back riding to just get away from everything. First time, I had galloped a horse in over a year and a half. It was scary the first time. I felt out of control and  very nervous. Plus all the emotions of my gram having died made it hard too. We galloped 5 different times and I got better at it and less scared each time. I was so sore the next day though!

Lyndsay got here and we had the viewing that night. Saturday was the funeral in the morning. Saturday night we had a BBQ and swim party.

Sunday, both Chelsey and Lyndsay went home. To be seen back in Utah again in September for Dane and Danielle's wedding.

My Gram's Died 7-18-2014

So this post is harder to write as it seems actually more real now that I am putting it in writing, but yet it doesn't quite seem real still. Just like I haven't seen my Gram for a little bit, which is unusual as I use to see her at least twice a month at family dinners. Or we would just go see her at her house because we wanted to.

I found this picture on my in-laws computer. According to my sister
this was Mother's Day 2010.

So Chelsey got into town on Thursday, July 17th in the afternoon. We couldn't go see her as Kara was sick with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. So Chelsey went and saw Gram with her kids and she also got to meet Ellie for the first time and last. Chelsey said is was a good visit and they went back to my mom's house.

Friday morning, I woke up and saw Chelsey had called so I called her back. She is the one who let me know that my Gram had died and was trying to help out my mom by calling everyone.

So that day was lousy! The story my mom tells of how the rehab place had been treating my Gram and my mom had been working on trying to move her to another facility. Both my aunts were out of town visiting family, so my mom had to deal with things alone. Good thing Chelsey was here for her annual July 24th visit.

That same day, I also had my annual Gynecological appointment in the afternoon. I left Kara with Matt and went to my appointment. At my appointment, I asked why my sciatica area would still be out of place from my miscarriage the month before. The doctor said it could still be left over hormones. Nope, I would find out 3 days later I was pregnant.

The similarities to when I was pregnant with Kara and how my grandma was doing were weird. When I got pregnant with Kara, my gram was in the hospital having had heart problems before. Now I was pregnant again, and this time she went to meet our little one and kick them out of Heaven before we get to meet our little one here on earth.

I miss her and things are different without her. I am so glad she was here for Kara's first year, even though Kara won't remember her. I have lessons that she taught me that I will never forget and I think of her often.

Gram, I know you are smiling at us down here on Earth and you are happy and healthy and your mind is with you. You are the most amazing woman I have ever known!

Kara got Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease

We picked Kara up from the Elswoods on Wednesday, July 16th and I noticed she had a couple of bumps on her butt while I changed her diaper. Nothing big, I thought as she has had diaper rashes before. Well we got home and before I laid her down for her nap, I changed her diaper again and the bumps had spread. By the time she woke up from her nap, the bumps had spread and she had a fever. I ended up taking her to the doctor that night, because my sister Chelsey was coming into town the next day with her family and they had a 2 month old baby. Well come to find out, the doctor diagnosed her with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease and she had to stay away from others until she wasn't contagious. I thought I was going to miss Chelsey's whole visit, well that was the least of the events as my Gram died that Friday and the last time I had seen her was a couple weeks before that.

10th Anniversary Trip July 13-16

So our 10th anniversary fell over the time when we were planning for my in-laws 50th anniversary, so we decided to delay it until July. Which was perfect as I miscarried that week and wouldn't have been able to go on our trip and we would have missed seeing Matt's family from out of town.

We entrusted our best friends, the Elswoods, with Kara for 3 nights in July. We meet up with them and gave them Kara and then headed up to the Cabins at Bear River Lodge.

We had out own 1 bedroom cabin with a kitchen and living room and balcony over looking the river. It was so peaceful and pleasant that we would like to go back again during the winter and rent snowmobiles.

We had tomato soup for dinner like we did for our first cooked meal as a married couple when we were on our honeymoon in Oregon. It is my favorite and we even had bread bowls.

We rented a four-wheeler for 2 days and just enjoyed ourselves. Before we went, Matt kept asking me if we were going to get 2 four wheelers, and I kept telling him, "No". It was a good thing as I didn't like driving them.

We had a blast just being the two of us, again for a little bit. We missed Kara, but soaked up the time away, We slept in, watched movies in the middle of the day, ate our food warm, enjoyed going for a late night swim, picnics on the 4 wheeler, etc..

The last 2 hours we had the 4 wheeler, I told Matt to drop me off and go have fun. Well have fun he did, he went through ever puddle and scary road that I didn't want to go on when I was with him. It was a perfect ending for him.

View of the cabins we stayed in.

Our 4 wheeler for the 2 days

Matt thought this was funny and I didn't care.

One of the two time I drove the 4 wheeler on flat land.

The Chinese restaurant we went to on our last night.
We drove 30 minutes to Evanston, WY.

Kara also had fun with the Elswoods. She even started to call Matt "dadda" after we picked her up. Before that she would call him Matt. So thankful to David and Kristin for taking care of her!

Catchup...

So it has been 4 months to the day I blogged last. There has been alot that has happened and this blog post is a synopsis. I will then go through the events with pictures and thoughts. But I am starting here.
