June 2014

I swam 2 miles for the first time in my life. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes doing the backstroke the whole way without stopping, but I did it!

Evening walk with my mom. Kara and her always seem to be dressed alike.

Checking out her sunglasses from Katie. Doesn't leave them on too long but loves to play with them for a bit.

One night, Kara decided that she wanted to be cuddle before bed. So I of course did, and she ended up falling asleep on me. Loved it!

Matt putting her to bed after picking her up from falling asleep on me.

Kara and her Dad, or as she calls him "Matt"

Turkey to the rescue. I was having a horrible night and I was able to call up Turkey and we went to a movie. She saved me and Matt and Kara too as all I wanted to do was cry around them.

Kara isn't very coordinated and her head has paid the price for it.

Cousins and a trampoline. Need you say more.

I got to watch my "other girls" dance this year at their recital. Matt had to work, so I went to show our support and love for them.

Kara's first smoothie. She loved it. We now have one at least 3 times a week.

Kara got her 15-month shots and ended up being sore and having a fever. All she wanted to do was cuddle and sit on your lap. We felt bad she was is pain but loved the cuddles.

Kasiah and Kara playing on the swing.

Kara singing on her box.

Short lived surprise

I wasn't sure I was going to post this when I put the pictures on my computer, but decided it happened and it will be part of our history, so why not.

June 19th - I took a pregnancy test and it said "pregnant". We were surprised and excited. Kara helped let her dad know once he got up from a nap.

Some days later, I had a miscarriage. BUT we have our Kara-Bean and love her with all our hearts, so it wasn't as traumatic as the miscarriage before we had Kara. Maybe one day it will happen again? Who knows?

Father's Day 6-15-2014

Father's Day was simple. We got Matt some shoes and socks for a present as that is what he needed. He was also off from work so we got to spend the whole day with him.

We saw both of our father's too for a brief moment.

Kara's new bike

Kara loves getting on the bikes at my mom's, so I decided to get her one from the DI.

She loves it!

Library Reading kick-off Day

We went to the Library reading kick-off day at West Jordan park with our neighbor friends, the Pehrsons. We enjoyed time at some booths, rode a train, and the heat.

Later that night, we went to a horse pull with the Pehrsons and ended up to stay and watch the fireworks. We weren't planning on staying for the fireworks, so we were under dressed for the cooler evening temps. Kara was lucky enough that Rachel Pehrson had extra close for her kids, so we put some pants, socks, and a long sleeve on Kara.

More MAY fun

We had a BBQ at Kali's on Memorial Day. Boy was it hot. We ended up having Kali's left over Popsicles from a few years before. They tasted great and helped cool us down.

Kara enjoyed her first one. She was sticky and got a bath when we got home.

Water fun. Matt opened up Kara's birthday present and let her play outside in it while I went swimming. She sure does love water!

Murray park to feed the ducks

I went to visit my Gram in the ICU at IMC Hospital in Murray. While Matt waited for me, he took Kara over to the park where they waited for me so we could feed the ducks.
