Washington...part 5

Two days before we left, Chelsey came up with the bright idea to paint pumpkins...the kid painted and we watched and helped. It was a lot of fun. Arlee was artistic, Lydia was brave, and Kara was a mess.

All Clean

Kara with her binkie in equals not eating paint.
Paper towel on the stem as it was pokey

Kara didn't quite appreciate the paper towel on her beautiful pumpkin.

Finished Produce and some very messy, but HAPPY girls.

Washington...part 4

Backyard Fun. Washington had such nice weather, while we were there that we spent some of it in their backyard.

Either taking pictures, playing hide-and-seek, or bowling, we just enjoyed being outside as much as possible.

Chelsey grew all these pupkins, so I thought I would try out my photo skills.

Love these two together. Arlee's express is mischievous.

Kara not so happy, me and Arlee having a good old time.

Hide and Seek...can you find Grandma!

Backyard bowling alley. We were waiting for dinner, so we thought we would get some bowling in, plus I was trying to keep the girls quiet while Kara took a nap.

Washington...part 3

As I said before, I needed to get my steps in so we went on a couple walks. One was suppose to be classified as a hike, but it was more of a walk to farmers fields. Those people in Yakima need to see some of the hiking done in Utah Mountains.
Arleee carried around this sage brush pretending it was an umbrella.

I wanted to get a scenery picture...with the farmers field.

Little hiking buddies.

The other walk was along the river park way that Matt and I had been on before. We ate lunch at the park before going on this walk. Beautiful Day compared to the last time I went on it.

I loved the colors on this tree. The orange leaves are my favorite.

This is the Dr Seuss tree.

Washington...Part 2

Before we headed to Washington, I told Chelsey I needed to make sure and get my steps in each day (7,000). So she made sure we had outings that could accomplish this.

One day we went to a park to walk, feed the ducks, and feed the ducks. The walking was fun except we saw a snake, which made me squeal alittle. The toys were fantastic for the kids.  The ducks freaked me out enough by getting to close to me so I stood on a bench out of there reach. It's not like they have wings or anything.

Chelsey took some time out to enjoy a relaxing slide as a seat.

Arlee was such a cute little helper with Kara.

She even took Kara down the slide.

QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!! Here comes the ducks
Chelsey taking a picture of me on the bench.

This is the scary duck...or goose actually that was a little too friendly!

Washington Trip...part 1

In August or September, my mom mentioned that she was going to Washington to see my sister, Chelsey, so I asked if Kara and I could tag along. I was a little nervous to take Kara on the long car ride, but she was fantastic both ways.

We had a lot of fun and adventures from our first day arriving to our last day leaving. We left on October 9th and got back on October 18th. Longest time away from Matt, especially hard for him not to see Kara.

One of our first activities was to go to Mt Rainer. Well we couldn't actually see it because of the cloud cover and the government shut down, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.

We saw the fall colors,

 Played in the snow,

Went on a hike,

And even saw a couple waterfalls.
