Comicon Salt Lake 2013

When Matt found out that Comicon was going be in Salt Lake he was dying to go. At first it didn't look like he could as we were going to be going to camping with the Elswoods, BUT fate worked in his favor. David ended up getting a new job, so his schedule changed and the Elswoods wouldn't be able to come up camping until Saturday morning. The camping site I wanted to go to wouldn't accept online reservations, so I decided I would go up early with Kara and get a campsite, while Matt would go to Comicon with his pals as long as he was up to the camping site by 7pm.

Well Matt enjoyed himself at Comicon. Everyday for about 2 weeks he talked to me about Comicon. Getting an app on his phone. Pre-checking what was happening, so he could make sure to be at the locations and events he wanted to be at. He went on and on and on. I was so glad once the day arrived.

He even got dressed up for the event as a Star Trekker. We found him some boots and black pants at the DI. He was SOOO excited!

New nephew...Zach Monson

We went to our newest nephew's baby blessing on September 1st. Before we left, we took pictures of Kara and her cousins together.

Jairus wouldn't be in the pictures without a soccer ball. Tali (age 5) kept thinking she was big enough to move Zach (age 1 month) around. Kara was tired and didn't enjoy any of it.

Kara eating food

Kara has been quite fun to feed. She gets really agitate and frustrated if you don't hurry fast enough. I wanted to make as much as her food as possible, so I decided to start canning (another post) and the first thing I canned was applesauce and pear sauce. Well she loved pear sauce, but didn't like apple sauce at all until recently.

Matt caught her second attempt at applesauce on video. I enjoy her face. She literally wouldn't close her mouth. She didn't spit it out. She would just keep her mouth open and had the applesauce on the roof of her mouth. She eventually got it all out. Broke my heart as I had already made so much applesauce and not very much pear sauce.

She also learned to hold her own bottle if she isn't too tired.

Dinner w/ Fabulous work people (8-31-2013)

Kara and I were invited to a "fancy" dinner with some of my friends, Connie, Mariah, Tifanie, Laura, and Keli from work. It was a newer restaurant and we all ended up order some small things and letting everyone try each other's orders. I tried some cheeses and other items. It was interesting. I have gotten a broader pallet since being pregnant. It is weird, but I have been braver at trying new foods.

I didn't get a picture of our group, but Mariah was nice and got a couple of Kara and I. The pictures aren't the best as only one of us looks not blurry, but it was fun anyway.

August 2013

I love the randomness of the months now that I have Kara to share them with. Plus, having a phone that has a camera on it, helps capture the little moments I would quickly forget without documenting them.

Matt LOVES Spidernan. So when I saw this at a store,
I thought it would be fun to pretend Kara was wearing it.

Went to a wedding reception with Mart's parents.
Its a good thing I did as I ended up navigating for them.
I tried to get Kara to dance with her grandpa, but
he just laughed at me.

Love this picture. Kara loves her daddy!

I think this is the last time I caught Kara and Matt
cuddling together as Kara now will have nothing
to do with cuddling like this.

Kristin introduced me to tomatoes and cottage cheese.
I quite enjoyed it and now eat it once a week at least.

I love this picture. Matt took it.
Kara loves her toes. She is such a silly girl.

This picture says it all except her daddy's heart
belongs to her! So does mine!

Went out to lunch with some of my family. Afterwards, I
wanted to take a picture of the cousins together. Turns out
we found out that Kara could sit up by herself.

My attempt at making zucchini bread by myself.  Turned out fantastic!
Gave alot of it away to the neighbors. Thanks for the recipe Kristin!

Thanksgiving Point Gardens - 8/27/2013

We took advantage of the $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point in August. We ended up going down with a group to take an adventure through them. My mom, Kali, Leile, my mother-in-law, Matt, Kara, and I had a nice time.

It was the perfect weather outside the gardens, but once you got in, all the plants produce alot of moisture and humidity in the air. We had an enjoyable time. It even rained on us at the end, but we had a nice time out.
