Vacation Day 4 - April 28th

We woke up this morning tired and glad to be going back to separate rooms for the nest nights sleep.
We packed up the car and went exploring Newport again to a beautiful day of sun. Aquarium, beach, lighthouse, and a long drive to Chelsey's.

We went to the Aquarium first. Matt and I had been here for our Honeymoon, but I didn't remember it until we were about done. See the picture for the fun.

After the aquarium, we got lunch and then went to a different lighthouse and the beach. Arlee and I were the first ones to take off our shoes, roll up our pants, and get into the cold water. Chelsey was soon in with us, but the boys preferred to be party poopers for this.

Right before we left the beach, Arlee got surprise by the tide, tried to run, but was off balance, and fell to her hands and knees. She got her clothes wet and her daddy's shoes who come to her rescue.

After the beach, we went back to the lighthouse and the tide pools. See the next post. (too many pictures)

Vacation Day 4 (lighthouse)- April 28th

After the beach, we went to the lighthouse and there are a lot of pictures, so it gets it own post. 

The lighthouse had a height requirement to go up the 110 stairs to the top, so decided to take turns watching the kids again. Hans and Chelsey went first, while we feed Lydia and watched Arlee run around. After, they got back, Matt and I went up the 110 steps to see the view.

 After, we were finished at the lighthouse, we hit the road to go back to Chelsey's. 7 hour drive was a little interesting, but we survived and arrived safely. 

Vacation Days 5-7 - April 29 - May 1

We spent vacation days 5 to 7 at Chelsey's house.

Sunday, April 29 

We went to church with them. We got to see how small their ward was, but how many friends and Chelsey have including Arlee. She has a very cute best friend her age and it was fun to see her run around with her. 

Their ward had a "Linger Longer" after church. We had a potato bar and got introduced to people in their ward. 

We had a nice home cooked meal that night and went on walk. Nice and relaxed. 

Monday, April 30th

Hans went back to work, so we did everything without him. We wanted to go for a walk along the river and have a picnic at the park. Well, we went for a walk but the weather didn't work out. It got really cold and windy. So we ended up going for a picnic at McDonald's. It had a slide that we had promised Arlee she could go on like at the park.

After lunch, Chelsey drove us around Yakima to see the orchards. Well, I got sick and we had to end the ride early. We ended up playing some kind of video games that afternoon, made home made chicken soup, and cookies that night. 

While Matt was playing, Chelsey decided to be funny and chase Arlee through the house with the bumbo on her head, which Arlee loved and I caught on camera.

Tuesday, May 1st. 

Chelsey had to drive us back to Portland Airport, 3 hours away, so we took our time to get ready that morning. Loaded up the car and went to a old fashioned soda fountain shop. 

Chelsey was brushing Arlee's teeth that morning, but by "playing dentist". The last time Arlee went to the dentist, Arlee wouldn't open her mouth, so the dentist told Chels to practice "dentist" with Arlee. 

This last video is Chelsey asking Arlee about Matt. It took a bit to come up with her answer. 

We had lunch or icecream or both. After our little stop, we spent the next 3 hours in the car. Lydia slept most of the way and Arlee listened to the CD of Disney songs that Matt picked out of Chelsey's music.

Chelsey dropped us off at the airport, we hugged each other goodbye and we parted.

I missed the noise of the girls already! It has been nice looking back at the pictures and writing the posts. Chels tell Hans to hurry and find a job closer. Miss you and the girls and even Hans! I want to see them grow up!
