Memories from the weekend with Arlee

We got to watch Arlee while my sister, Chelsey and her husband Hans, went to Louisanna.

I have been reminded again that kids are a serious hazard to your sleep schedule.

1st night - She woke up at 8:00am
2nd night - She woke up at 6:30am
3rd night - She woke up at 3:30am, 4:30am and stayed awake until 6:30am. We finally fell asleep in my bed and Chelsey showed up at 7:30am to get her.

Other fun memories-
  Potty Training.

• Keep her on schedule...every three hours we visit the bathroom...not much fun especially if SHE doesn't think she needs to go.
• Bridding can work, but doesn't work all the time
• Diapers overnight are a must

Arlee says the cuttest things:

• Whoopsie
• I got it
• Love you (at 4:30am when she won't go to sleep)
• Quotes from her favorite movies
• I especially like watching Tarzan with her
• She would dance to the music
• Sing the songs and even beat her chest like Tarzan
• Church
• Trying to get her ready and go to church was an adventure. She DIDN'T want to go!
• During Young Women's, she sat on my lap the whole time
• During Sunday School, she fell asleep on my shoulder and stayed asleep through sacrament.
• When we got home, she put on my shoes, walked down the stairs with my help, and for 5 minutes walked around the house saying, "Go to church" and "Bye, go to chuch"

I love Arlee and being able to watch her. It was fun pretending to be a mom for that weekend!



Drapes...we made some

So after we moved into our new place...we found that our bedroom was too light at night and we were having trouble sleeping, so we bought some drapes. Well they only come in certain lengths and the ones I bought needed to be hemmed about 30 inches, so I came up with the bright idea to use the extra material and make drapes for the small bedroom upstairs.

I wanted it to be dark enough for Arlee to sleep and when we have a baby for the baby to sleep too.

Well I asked my mother-in-law for help.

We went and bought some extra fabric, pieced the drapes together, and we finished. My mother-in-law sewed, I helped pin and did the ironing.

Young Women....diamonds in the rough

As I have posted before, I am the Young Women's President in my ward.

Well the weekend before conference I had that opportunity to take 5 Young Women down to the conference center to listen to the General Young Women Broadcast. It was uplifting, spiritual, and a reminder to me.

The Young Women in our world today face so many challenges that have changed, since I was in Young Women's. I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be around beautiful daughters of Heavenly Father and the lessons I learn from them and the ones I get to help them learn.

They are amazing and I hope if I have daughters they can be spiritual giants like some of these girls are.

Thankful for their example and the love they show for me!

New place...Finally Getting Clean

It has been 4 weeks since we moved today. It has been interesting getting everything put together. We finally put our clean clothes away and got the bedroom all set up on Thursday night. Why did this take 4 weeks? All I can say is Matt has been crazy with school and I have been crazy with work and Young Women's. So why did we finally get this done, well we get to watch Arlee for another weekend. We haven't watched her since Thanksgiving. I have been nervous about it, because she is in the process of being potty trained and I don't have any experience with this let alone wanting "accidents" to happen. Not my cup of tea.

Well I got off work last night and went to pick her up at my mom's house. She was wearing this:

Absolutely adorable. I finally got her to take it off while we were eating dinner.

Mind you when we left my mom's house she cried for 10 minutes for her mom and dad. She finally settled down 5 houses away from my house. Yeah.

It was interesting putting her to bed and cute at the same time.

I got woken up this morning by Matt and Arlee saying "Wake up Abbie" and "Its snowing outside". Adorable. Well when Matt laid her down with me, he so casually mentioned that she needed a diaper change to. Well he was right, she was poopy! What a fun mess.

Bath time, breakfast, don't forget to ask if she has to go the bathroom every 3 hours, play time, and currently nap time. Check back the next time I post. I will let you know how it is going or went.

All I can say is I want the pleasure of having my own and getting to hear all the cute, fun, silly, and off the wall things they have to say.

My favorite so far is "Whooopsie"!

We MOVED!!!!

We MOVED....1 door down. We got an opportunity to move into a 3 bedroom town home, right next door to our 2 bedroom town home.

It is going to be really nice. Now that the neighbors are gone, we won't have to hear swearing and yelling while we are at home.

We will now officially have a baby's room. NOW, we just need a baby. We are still trying to ADOPT, so if you know of anyone, please give them our information.

We will have an office and workout room on the main level with lots of storage. I can probably start making more hair things and start more hobbies.

We want to THANK everyone who helped us move. We COULD NOT have done it without you.

Something new to do

I found a new project that I like to do. My friend, Kristen, likes to try new projects and make things, so I tried one of the with my Young Women. Now I just like to do it for fun. I make little kids hair bows. These are my first attempts at it.

We are still alive...Lets catch up

So it has been a long time since I have posted. It was hard typing with only one arm and pictures wouldn't post so I gave up for a little bit. Plus Matt is a computer hog always doing homework.

So here is a recap of our lives and some pictures to go with it too.

Christmas was fun. (See the pictures below)

New Years we spent with our best friends, the Elswoods. We stayed over night as we often do because they live 45 minutes away. Matt stayed up all night playing video games. Kristen came down at 6am to find him still playing. I got the best night sleep that night because Kristen took their foam mattress pad off her bed and put it on the air mattress for Matt and I. Well, I slept on it that night and Matt took a five hour nap on New Years Day. Thanks Kristen. We hung out on New Years Day and watched a movie. Well, the girls watched a movie while the boys slept. It was so cute becuase Katie stayed on Matt's lap while he slept.

Matt started Spring semester and we have 6 weeks left of it. YEAH. He only has 9 months of school left and then we are done with homework and school!!!! Can't wait!!!

I started back to work on January 19th only working 4 hours a day for two weeks, but that has long since past, I am now working full-time again and loving the adventure of learning my new position. It is crazy and stressful, but fun at the same time.

My arm is gradually getting better too. Get to work it out for at least 1 hour each evening. Having fun being patient with not being able to carry much weight and getting my movement back. Patience!?! I love this lesson!

Here was one of the stylish dinners that I made with 1 arm.

 

Matt lost his fishing pole over the summer to a fish, so I bought him a new one. A new and improved one, notice his arm has a blue band around it, well it is attached to his pole. Now hopefully he won't lose it again.
